He's an attacking midfielder in my eyes but he's still a midfielder - if we were serious about signing Ali then we could certainly find a role for him considering we are playing Godfrey at LB, Iwobi at RWB and have played Andre Gomes as some weird sort of winger at points this season.

Atleast with Ali he'll get you goals which is more than can be said for the majority of our squad.

He can only play one role though, that’s the problem. That’s why spending £50m on him is sheer lunacy.

I mean 50M is ridiculous for a player who hasn't done anything in 2+ years but I'd loan Dele in for the rest of the season with an option to buy. We desperately need creativity and scoring in that advanced MF spot, something neither Siggy or Gomes provide.

I'd have Alli, I proper rate him. Think he's going through tough period of form but comes in and adds some energy and flair to our midfield. 50m is madness tho, anything around 20-25 is a good deal.
