Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Dyche is a massive recruitment issue for us. Given a choice between us and another team, nobody is picking us when:

a) Dyche looks so likely to be replaced.
b) You don’t know who the new manager will be or if they’d want you/what system they’ll play or where you’d fit in.
c) Even if Dyche stays no midfield/wing/forwards are going to want to play in a system that makes it an uphill struggle to look good and end up spending most of the game defending.

We’re going to be left scrambling round at the end of the window for the dregs of the barrel again while our rivals have strengthened and got their targets in.

Imagine if you are a 17 year old promising kid from the championship and Everton were after you - you had the choice of either:

- An embarrassingly bad footballing Mgr Dyche.
- Arguably one of the best world managers ever.

This transfer stuff is easy. Back to my FIFA game
Ferguson is going to West Ham, good move for him. He needs to sort himself out off the field and work on his fitness.... Potter has a good relationship with him.

If we got Jose, Matty.
I don’t believe he’s one of the best ever, maybe 20 years ago he was, did well with Porto then took the Chelsea job with infinite money cheat basically, had best team in Portugal, England,Italy, Spain, no doubting he’s a great manager but I’ve never been a huge fan just like I’m not of peps either. Not sure it’s a great manager we need more one that’s a great fit for the club look how ancelotti worked out not many better than him. And yes that calibre of manager certainly will attract better players but just throwing a big name in isn’t necessarily it. Whoever we pick needs to be right for now and the future, meaning at least a 5 year stint and building something good but we need TFG to also be part of that and we’ve no idea how that will work out.
