Can see him looking for both rb lb on deals now and then could see us trying for loans i cpuld see 4 come in. Just feel he will look at a cb with us being so bad. Again will depend if we can sell would be great if xould get holgate off the books for a good price snd digne

If we have any level of competency, we’ll have loan deals lined up for playing coming in and available from the first few days of January.

There would be players out there needing and wanting to play to make World Cup squads, even if we are [Poor language removed] we would be a good chance to loan players like that.

We need at least three minimum for me. A central defender, a right back and a midfielder who has legs and some creativity. Minimum. We could also do with another forward but I don't think we will stretch to four players even three is optimistic even with loans.

Nobody is buying Gbamin, maybe a loan where we pay the bulk of his wage. Tosun and Kenny may go but we won't attract fees for them, and in Tosun's case may even have to pay him some of his wages to leave. The club's a mess.

The only saleable asset there is Digne, but if we sell him we have zero premier league standard fullbacks. Sad times.

Fair one ... I doubt anyone will buy Gbmain straight away . He will probably get injured time n time again , then eventually leave on a free.

Playing a centre half at fullback will do in a pinch, if that's our strategy for half a season with no cover other than Fabian Delph then we are in deeper trouble than I thought.

We really should have actively driven Delph and Gomes out in the summer and replaced them with one reliable midfielder.
Amongst many failings in the summer, that was the worst.

The only rumours I have doing the rounds at present are Winks, Jansson, and Ramsey. Throw in the continuing links to the Geordie mutant, Longstaff and my cup truly runneth over!

Both would've been great signings, we will not progress as a club by just signing players with 'premier league experience'.

Just got to give Benitez time to load up the squad with more Rondons though....

I doubt we get more than £5m, but who knows. If we sell him, we'll have to sign another centre half as I don't see Benitez involving Branthwaite, he's shown no indication that he is going to so far. So, best case scenario, we see Holgate out and a new cheap CB in. Unlikely to be transformative for our season.
