Not sure of him could be a great foil to Gray, Richie and DCL, would have a good front line then.
I'm not sure based on current form but you'd think considering our issues at CF and the fact he can play on the wings too that we'd be interested in him. Esp if we could get a loan to buy

Good point!, think as a fan base we need to start being able to 'move on', Ross cocked up for self profit in his move and lets face it, it was probably badly advised by an agent. He did the club out of 10 million when he moved as advised, think we should be more angry at the likes of Koeman who did the club out of 250m including 4 number 10's plus over 6 million a year in wages and the like!

We all know that Fat Man 'admires' Ross as a player, said so in an after match interview and he isn't that arsed about causing waves in the fanbase if he believes it can benefit the team and his position in his role.

Question though, lots of talk about Longstaff coming here, toss up between him and Ross, who would you have? think Longstaff would be a perm and Ross on a loan?

Neither isn't an option :)

Agree with all of that, but I’d also add that a medical was undertaken, and it is my understanding that Barkley actually had an injury. It wasn’t a figment of Barkley’s imagination.

What were we expecting Chelsea to do in all of this? Buy a player that is going to be out for six months at the double the price you can get him in six months time? Do we think Everton would sign up for that type of deal? Would any club sign up for that type of deal?

Zat, lad???

We now have sadsack in charge of all transfers. We’re signing some yes men so that boring defensive, togger is done correctly.
he came over late last night Chris. He's now a fervent Rafaelite. Kev the Rat was taken away in a van this morning.
There's just you and Roy Vernon left.

….Gomez? Looks a class act, similar to Digne at his best. We have to remember, though, that Benitez doesn’t encourage his full backs to get forward & this is where this boy looks most effective. Good player.

Benitez seemed to sign a lot of Spaniards at Liverpool and I wouldnt say no to that if theyre anything like as exciting as this kid looks.

One thing with Brands which annoyed me was the lack of any Dutch players or anyone from the Dutch league joining.

Wenger signed huge numbers of Frenchies as he had the contracts and inside knowledge. Some didnt work out but many did.

Hopefully Benitez brings in some young quality from Spain.

Why don’t you link the article instead of acting like you have inside info

Funnily enough i posted the same on Mina 2 days ago...available at £17.1mil as per a couple of dodgy websites.

Could make things interesting if he and Digne are sold.

If we sell Digne for e.g £23mil and signed the Spanish u21 player Sergio Gomez (linked) for say, £10mil then that looks to be good business based on this youtube video and his stats:

Then we have him and Nkounkou at left back...young, dynamic and looks to be exciting.

At centre back, partners for Godfrey:

Bremer (Torino) £20-25mil

Badiashile (Monaco) £40-50mil

Ginter (Gladbach) Free

Right back...the boy Mazraoui (Ajax) Free

Aside from these suggestions, we could have an interesting next couple of windows:

Kenny out of contract 2022
Coleman finished
Nkounkou on loan
Digne who knows
Mina out of contract 2023
Keane dreadful
Branthwaite rumoured extension
Holgate seems out of favour

Hopefully we see a big clearout and just keep Nkounkou, Branthwaite and Godfrey and rebuild with young players to grow over the next 2-3 seasons before we move to the stadium.

Mazraoui on a free? Yes.
The thing is you'd have to sign someone to partner Douc and Allan in a 3 man mid.
Mazraoui can do his thing and allow the RW (Grey or Richo) to have a more of a free role across the front line.
This is the way i'd be going but can't see Franco, sorry Rafael, doing it.

Well, you never know perhaps the penny dropped with him after seeing Gomes in a 3 the other day.

Im at a bit of a loss as to what i expect Benitez to do really as so far our 'style of play' and tactics seem pretty basic.

If he elects to continue with his favoured 4213 type formation with 2 deep midfielders and Doucoure a little more advanced then we could have 2 attacking full backs.
