I think the 40 million is based on a pile of appearance/performance related clauses. If he’s rubbish then we’ll probably pay a fraction of that.

If he costs 40 million, it will be because he turned back into the 100 million player.

It's a smart deal for both sides given the cashflow situation. Our downside risk is low, Levy has the potential for big upside if the deal pans out, and he gets dead wages off his books.
