isn't there some sort of cashback / grant scheme they get from the Prem or some one,

although I really really would like to think it came from the Clubs own coffers and would be in the accounts somewhere to prove it

Debits.
100,000. treat the away fans.

Second thoughts if it was it would be in the 25M catch all Operation Costs.

Good for the away guys though

The subsidy for this fixture comes separate to the 2014/15 Away Fan Initiative, which saw tickets for the games at Newcastle United and Swansea City reduced and the provision of free coach travel for the visits to Burnley, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers.

More details on how clubs have spent that Away fan Initiative money.

Hull haven't spent any of the money on their own fans

"The Away Supporters Initiative is focused around improving the away end at your home ground to make it a more inviting and welcoming place, and improving the standards and match-day experience for visiting fans at your home stadium. "That's what the policy document is based around and we have spent more than what has been required by that on our match-day experience at home.

"We've also been the most successful at it as well. That is testament to the fantastic job which we have done here. "We've spent the money wisely and we're bucking the national trend which is for dwindling away support because we have had a five per cent increase in away attendance at our games at the KC.

"We've also had a five per cent increase in our away-end revenues because of that."

Gotta admire that Hull used the money to drive up their own revenues! Although, having been to some absolute cess pits of away ends, no shade from me.

I think Brighton at their new stadium have an outside area at the away end that is lit in the colours of the away team, and the bars sell the local ale from wherever the team's fanbase are from.

Didn't seem entirely altruistic by Hull did it :p

Reciprocal discount deals appear a good idea, especially for those places that are a long distance as it helps make the trip costs more feasible for the away fans that want to travel whilst also providing more atmosphere for the home stadium (and as Hull proved away end revenue!).

Stop chatting utter bubbles and make your actual point, for gods sake.

Please explain how it is gonna cost circa 100k.
Bry thought the tickets were a tenner instead of £55 and is now trying to b/s his way out of it.

3005*45 ~=135k instead of the 3005*10=30k it really is.

Please don't kill me Bry.

It is not even 2 grand a man for the 18 or so players in the squad for the game.
Between the full squad and staff they could have payed in full for the 3,000 tickets.
After the dross we have put up with that would have been a good gesture.

It's a great gesture by the players, as they didn't have to do anything at all.

However, saying it's 2k per player is incorrect. Based on 18 players contributing, it's not even £200 each. To be fair, that must be like us giving away 50p!

yeah that's it. Fairplay to the blues if this is out of their own back pocket though

3005 tickets, £10 per ticket = £30050

Divide by 18 = £1670 each

Chances are, the players havn't picked all the tab up, but, if they did, it's pretty close to 2k.

Curious, does this happen often? It sure doesn't over here in the US. A fine gesture if you ask me and another reason I am proud to associate with this club.

People mentioning that it's nothing because they're on 50-60k a week sound like bitter jealous [Poor language removed]. Great gesture by the players considering they don't have to do it. Nobody forces you to go away games
