The most ridiculous case of this tyoe was when Victoria Beckham tried unsuccessfully to force Peterborough United to stop using the word "Posh" on club merchandise after she had trademarked the term "Posh Spice".

As the 'Peoples Club' and with Snods being a son-of-Doncaster Everton representative - why not get him to visit, be seen buying some fruit and veg for a local charity/to take to an old folks home and get some positive publicity.

Then the icon can be one that resembles Everton tower. Not the same as the one the football club use mind.

Stick 'district' in tiny writing on the label of the shirt.

Yes the club have the word trademarked for various uses.

Location can be exempt as a descriptor but not all the time.

then act. Right now, the club picked a fight (whether right or wrong) that was bound to be a PR own goal. They've ended up looking bad in the national press. It's their job to avoid that happening.
