Then like now, patronising journos telling us we're being harsh and cautioning about change for change's sake.

Regardless of what pro Martinez Journo's may say now, this is certainly not knee jerk and there have been at least occasions where Martinez has been on thin ice in his Everton tenure. Had his second season yielded a fifth place finish and record points tally instead of the first then it may have worked more in his favour. However it certainly appears his methods have led the club on a downward spiral.
I find it extremely difficult to see any light at the end of the tunnel with Martinez. Yes there has been some great football to watch on occasions. Yes he's made some decent signings. But lets face it the last two seasons have been shambolic, semi finals or no semi finals

Like Gordon Lee the nearly man, but Gordon had a defence that could defend, a better manager than David Moyes and RM in respect his teams mostly scored goals, in his good years robbed of a Wembley final by Clive Thomas too ,don't forget that!

That is true. I liked Gordon Lee and the football was quite good to watch and as you say we did score goals. He made us into a very good team but the board decided no money was available and his decline was having to field young potential players. Sounds a familiar story. We were thereabouts with Lee but when you had that RS team to contend with it was always an uphill struggle.
