Apparently Wolves paid just over £4m for Roger Johnson, who's a year older than Ridgewell but only had a year left on his contract. Johnson was more coveted, plus Brum only paid about £2m for Ridgewell themselves, so £3.5m would probably be about top whack for him.

He's only just turned 27, he's well over 6ft, he knows where the goal is, he can play left back as well as centreback and he was part of a Birmingham defence that kept a club record number of clean sheets, so there are plenty of reasons to go for him. I'd prefer to lose Distin rather than Jags though, if possible.

I wouldn't have gone for him before I read this thread but, weighing it up, he'd tick pretty much all the boxes of what we'd be looking for.

That's weird. Our sis was talking about my niece's options for secondary school and mentioned Ridgeway and the fact that it's got a rep as one of the best schools in Birkenhead now. That was two months ago. She does smoke a lot.

Now I come to mention it, she also said she'd heard a really good guitarist who could go really far. Think his name was Jimi Hendrix or something equally daft.
