Having said that he's been to big games there where the police have automatic pistols strapped to their hips escorting fans into the away end. So it's no joke but it's also the high tourist season so it's not like the English aren't welcome or already there in droves.

Conflict in the balkans has gone one since forever. In WW2 the nazis took advantage of that & there were SS divisions from Croatia. They wouldn't have been manning the gas chambers or even interested in the ideology, they were fighting against their enemy. After the war general Tito managed to galvanise the factions & created Yugoslavia, but after he died the whole thing disintegrated & we all know what happened. People there have endured mass murder so if they're not as politically correct as we are, then it is what it is. No different to people in Northern Ireland showing support for the IRA or UDA.

So not excusing it, but just think yourself lucky that "ethnic cleansing" is something we hear on the news, not a daily reality.

Back to football...some of the most insane atmospheres I have ever experienced have been during the Croatian derby. Poljud's north end is pretty effing ludicrous and a hell of a lot of fun. I'm thankful we're not going to the depressing concrete mess that is maksimir (dinamo zagreb's stadium).

You fellas who are going down there for the match are in for a great time.

Don't take that Hajduk Yugoslavia guy as one of ours, no true Hajduk fan would make mention of Yugoslavia,or use the old club emblem with the commie star as his pic. Most likely a serb [Poor language removed] stirrer trying to create tension and trouble. Split is the most beautiful city in the world

I don't get why people are worried about this. I know they didn't look good in the first tie, but it's a team from Croatia. I'm not saying take them lightly, but I expect to win this tie. Yes Pal. Being Croatian myself I also know exactly how to write full sentences in our language with the least mistake and use colloquial terms like "doesn't". Oh and who could possibly know how to insert such a wonderfully evocative term such as c--t into Everton in order to insult us so subtly but one of my own? So I suggest you get into formation double quick and 4-3-3 back to RAWK (unless you are just one of us on a wind up, which I doubt very much) - either way give it a rest eh, "Pal" ?
