Everton and VAR

Dermot Gallagher says Mason was spot on. Imagine my surprise.

Laughable bias.

Is it any wonder the game is gone when you have this inherent bias and hypocritical double standards in the game.
Yeah of course he was, let’s see how many penalties are give next week for similar ‘fouls’ and let’s see what these so called experts have to say, the whole lot of them havnt got a clue and that’s the fundamental flaw in the PL, they could do with taking a look at how the rugby officials do it, ex players and so on, but they won’t want to do that and break up the old boys club.

Gets better he goes on to say the Richarlison one wasn't a penalty as well as VAR bring right in overturning the Brighton one.
North Korean levels of backing the officials there.

There like politicians, never think they are wrong and that they know best, when everyone else can see what’s really going on. Really grates on me that they are not held accountable and in essence don’t have to explain themselves. We are told that we should praise them when they do get a decision right, hang on they are meant to get them right and that’s what they are paid for, to me that speaks volumes that we have to give praise for something they should be doing anyway.

They are like a little mafia, that have no accountability in a multi million pound industry. That Daniel James Penalty was up there with our decision. Dermot Gallagher is horrendous in his bias for his mob. As I said there is no common sense anymore and refs can give decisions on what they consider contact which is facilitating cheating. I thought. VAR was here to stop cheating but refs can make bizarre decisions to suit their own agenda.

Two reasons why VAR was never going to solve anything in England:

1. They've (the in game refs) been instructed to not use the sideline booth monitor.
2. They employ biased refs in the VAR booth.

They need a centralized VAR review off site somewhere with non-biased refs who are not affiliated with the EPL officials in any way. And FFS they need to use the sideline booths for a final check before decreeing the ruling.

VAR won't work because referees and the FA are corrupt to the core.
VAR like FFP sound great in theory, but they have one sole aim - to keep the elite, elite.
Retrospective bans for diving? Mo Salah should have been banned over 10 times last season for diving. Not once did he even get investigate. Niasse was banned.

That absolute parasite, Howard Webb was on BT Sports recently and was asked if he thought an incident. He said "yeah I would probably have given it", he was asked why (as it clearly wasn't a pen), and he said "well the other team were awarded a pen in the first half and this was at the Stretford End"

WT actual F? This, combined with David Ellery's autobiography where he said that referees are told if they are in doubt to favour the big teams as they bring in the money, tells me that referees are corrupt and absolute parasites.

Football is dying
This is why I've by a large given up on football, yes I'll always be a blue but it's too corrupt nowadays. As we were discussing on the other thread about the RS, the money comes from the TV companies. The clubs who have the largest number of armchair supporters tend to get the decisions, Man United and Arsenal are beyond help really, so really it's only Liverpool to a lesser extent Chelsea and City who bring in the money. The Clattenburg game, wasn't simply a case of bad refereeing, it was blatant corruption. The problem is when the TV money kicked in, clubs like Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Chelsea were able to build international followings, that bring in huge amount of money. So when we were challenging them in 2007/2008 they needed to make it hard for us, it was found out that we lost 12 points that season they would of got us into the top 4. It took City nearly 10 years to properly challenge them and it looks like Spurs, challenging for trophies is over now.

What struck me as much as anything about Gallagher saying it was a penalty is that he made no attempt to justify the VAR decision , even when the other 2 guests were laughing at him. It was if his old mates had instructed him to back them up.
I've seen him do hundreds of assessments and he invariably highlights that contact is acceptable and to look at where the players eyes are focused.
All he would say about the Brighton penalty was contact was made so VAR called it as a penalty.

So hang on, is he saying the referee on the pitch was wrong? It’d be interesting to see him answer that one, but of course no one will ask him.

To be fair to Stephen Warnock he highlighted the fact that the referee was in a perfect position to view the incident, again Gallagher ignored him....... Stinks to high heaven

I totally agree, they are like a mini mob, they all got their heads together before this weekend to jeapordise VAR, they are not professional and back each other up. There should be individual assessors at every game and refs who fall below the standard are sanctioned or struck off.

VAR has also cost me over £700 today
Had Everton in my accumulator
The only game to let me down

I know not to pick us normally but I really thought we’d get the win

Tbf if you bet on Everton winning away from home in your accumulator you should be expecting massive odds but also never being able to collect any money

Nah he told the ref he wasn’t touched and that it wasn’t a pen... the ref decided Fowler was wrong and he then took the pen and scored ... against Leeds I think

This is the one I was thinking of

Although his sportsmanship wasn't as good as I remember, he just took a bad penalty that Mcateer scored the rebound for and then the two of them celebrated. It's amazing they still manage to surpass my low expectations.
