Took me an absolute age to think of a striker.

After the Southampton game, I was challenged by my old man to name a full Everton eleven who all had surnames beginning with 'H'. Which I managed (without google) eventually. We then worked out ten of an eleven all starting with 'S', but time ran out and we were still a CM short there.

For the record, there was a little leeway over positions/formations but it wasn't just any 11 players who happened to have surnames beginning with that letter, otherwise Steve Simonsen could have covered our gap in CM. Thinking about it later, I reckon 'B' and 'W' might be possible.

Here we go.

All 4-4-2 line ups.

No Southall?!

No Southall?!

I didn't know it was the "best" XI we were looking for

I just like picking obscure players.

When I can't sleep at night instead of counting sheep I pick a random letter and see how many Everton players I can think off :(

How sad is that?

And in answer to the question you posed to me......no......Mr. Google was not employed :)

I do believe I saw every one of those players in an Everton shirt with the exception of Stuart Storer as I am not sure he got a first team start.

I was at Leeds when Drew Brand let in five and I saw Peter Billing play in the final of one of those daft competitions which proliferated during the era of the European ban :pint2:

Literally laughing out loud here (kids are giving me weird looks) imagining a Belfitt-Barlow strike force.

I see what you did there. What does our CF do to celebrate scoring?
A bit like this
