Everton. A Well Marketed Project?

There is no warchest. We've bought a few players with the Lukaku cash and will probably spend the Ross cash on Sigurdsson.

Moshiri isn't a Man City/PSG type owner. He's a bloke worth a few quid who likes the footy.

Most top flight clubs have a wealthy bloke at the top these days - doesn't mean we will become the next Chelsea.

Lived in Scotland for 10 years now for work commitments and I have never been able to buy an Everton top up here in a shop. All the top 6 clubs are easily available. Also Newcastle.

Just a little thing that we could improve on as a club. Probably more chance to get a everton top in Tanzania than Glasgow at present.

And it will remain that way while Kitbag hold the monopoly on Everton merchandise :(

The mythical £100 war chest, that was supposed to be available last window, didn't happen. While Moshiri has made an incredible amount of progress with the nuts and bolts; stadium, debt, management side of the club, he hasn't shown us that he is willing to spend any more on new players than the amount received for players sold. In other words, if we don't sell, we don't buy. Same old, same old?

People got carried away when Mr Moshiri first came on board, thinking that he was another Sheikh Mansour or another Roman Abramovich.

Mr Moshiri has great business acumen and has brought a level of professionalism to the club, but there's no way that we're going to be big spenders under his stewardship.

My lad lives in London and he said most sports shops there have EVERY Premier League shirt... ....apart from ours. He even saw Newcastle shirts down there... ...when Newcastle were in the Championship.

We are a club with a big fanbase that stretches the length and breadth of the country... ....and we sell shirts in two bloody shops.

How long more is that kitbag contract to run? Incredible how restrictive it is. I haven't seen any Everton merchandise in Ireland for years.

Meanwhile the north Koreans mop up gullible youngsters.

It comes to an end in May of 2019, thank God.

Great to know that EFC still has some fans left in your fair country, despite our shambolic attempts at merchandising.

There are lots of Irish Toffees all over the country. Check out the website!!

But unfortunately there are far more wearing various shades of red and blue instead of the RBJ.

Anytime EFC is playing at home the Ryanair flight from Dub to JLA will be nearly half made up of Evertonians.

Elvery's (Dundrum and Stephen's Green) both stock the home shirt and generally have a full range of sizes. Have picked up a shirt for my five year old there the beginning of the last two seasons, will have a look if the current one is there yet. Last season's was there in august IIRC. No idea if they have an affiliation with kitbag, perhaps they have, but their online shop is pretty well developed so they may have.

Oh and I'm not arsed what is said. Don't listen to the marketeers, don't pay heed to the newspaper tittle tattle.

I'm an Evertonian. Nothing will change that.

Born. Not manufactured.

Whats not to like or distrust? I see Moshiri as a very clever facilitator with a clear plan to make Everton truly competitive in a staged, sustainable way. Everton FC is an opportunity in the PL but also the city of Liverpool and the waterfront. His vision appears to me to make the new look Liverpool city & waterfront (Liver Birds as well) very much Everton Royal Blue. If this was LFC, we would all be absolutely gutted - it probably would have spelt the death knell for our club ever becoming a major force again had he rolled up at Analfield.

From what I can see, FM is well on track to achieve his long term vision and BMD will be the key to our long term growth, global marketability and competitiveness. Talking about net spends is all very well and we would almost certainly have spent some (all - I doubt it!) of the £90mill from Lukaku on other players had Moshiri not been here. That would likely have been it though and I certainly don't think we would have had the same players through the door - we could not have afforded their wages in the long term nor offered them the ambition/vision that Moshiri has brought. Not sure if people have noticed but we are also spending big on young players that won't be competing for the first team positions for a number of years. This is an important part of the long term approach and probably part of a 'business within the business' - if they cannot get in at Goodison, we will recylce them at a tidy profit to others clubs - Chelski have been doing this very well for many years.

With Mosh, Ryantsev etc. at the helm we have been able to:

- entice a manager that was a world class footballer and one of the most famous defenders of all time. His fame puts us on the map.
- attract a Director of Football from the PL champions
- continue spending because our previous debt has been dealt with (Sigurdsson and others will happen)
- offer player wages that we previously could not (Rooney, Schneiderlein)
- facilitate and enable borrowing the finance required not only for moving from Goodison to a world class location but leaving a legacy in L4 that our community club can be proud
- entice club partners that were almost certainly previously our of reach - USM / Sure / Industrial and Commercial Bank of China

The next big step once BMD is revealed will almost certainly be more funding partners, possibly wealthier individuals or organisations than Farhad himself. Not sure if people have noticed but even though the are in the Champions League, LFC are not really spending too much! Looks to me like they must qualify first before any big outlays are agreed - they are not as rich as they make out, the yanks won't fund it themslves and that big stapler is

The last 2 years have been unbelievable for Evertonians everywhere. The next 5 years could be incredible. There will always be suspicion but so far everything that has happened demonstrates a club with new ambition, a potentially incredible future at a new stadium location and an owner that knows what it takes to get us there. Previously we had an owner that would have loved to take us there, but he didn't have the means. Now we have an owner that has the means and most importantly, the right friends in the right places. We might not be quite doing a Man City but we are a long way from looking over our shoulders at a relegation fight. There may still be the odd playing hiccup or derby defeat along the way but we are a long long way from plucky old Everton.

This. Like what I've seen so far, hopefully he continues to back the manager and those wheels on the stadium keep turning

Agreed. It's clear to me that we're in a much better position than we were before Moshiri came. BMD is the one big project that will change the face of this club, and that appears to be his number one priority, make a tidy profit on selling us to a much-better funded owner and then the world is our oyster. The chants of 'we're rich' when Moshiri came were cringeworthy and obviously wide of the mark at the time.
