Let’s be honest, this will be the “same old same old”, same team selection, same negative tactics and same result. I don’t see any prospect of Moyes changing at this stage. From what I’ve read it would appear that TFG are happy with Moyes and will let him complete his contract next year. I fully accept that David Moyes has done a good job, he has changed the dynamic of the club, we are on an upward trajectory for the first time in a while. We need to now take the next step and move into the European places which means more money and better players, I am doubtful that Moyes is the man to take that next step. I hope what I have read about TFG is wrong and they are not happy that Moyes won’t play the young players they have spent millions on. There appears to be some good managers becoming available, if we hang on to Moyes for another year we might miss out and we will have brought in Moyes type players that the next manager may not fancy.
Another season of mid-table mediocrity will really put the stable into stability. We'll be treading water. Get rid in the summer.

The 65th minute is a bit early for subs. Barry/Beto on for Beto/Barry in the 79th minute is how to football.
Or wait until Gana Gueye is in a retirement home, to put on a replacement. If we are really lucky we'll only have to wait until the 70th minute for McNeil to be taken off instead of 75th minute. Makes too much sense to have JOB a young centre back playing and have an actual right back at right back. Instead play JOB out of position facing doku to accommodate 2 ageing defenders against Haaland. I don't think Moyes is a bad manager, he just refuses to change.

I am quite looking forward to this game.

It will be my last match of the season as I can’t make Sunderland.

I have zero expectation of a positive result but I am still in awe of the sheer majesty of Hill Dickinson and every time I go there it feels like a special occasion.

And anyway, I long ago came to realise (probably circa 1973 ☹️) that when it comes to our beloved EFC, divorcing the splendour of the occasion from what actually occurs on the pitch is the best way to preserve my sanity.

Read the first line and thought "don't do it to yourself"

Read the rest and thought "at least there will be chicken and beer"
