…..maybe a reality check, posters were generally happy with the team selection, Ndiaye, Alcaraz & McNeil starting but despite our ‘best players’ on the pitch I thought our only real intent was from a continual barrage of crosses.

Terrific ball in from Alcaraz for the first, threatening crosses from McNeil but we didn’t particularly give their keeper much to do.

We’ve been fed a diet of mediocracy, fans chuffed we have the likes of Ndiaye and Alcaraz but maybe they’re just a baseline and we need better.

I’m just glad we have Moyes at the helm, he’ll certainly know who he wants next season, he has a huge task on his hands. McNeil gets my MoM vote.
Hang two on a relegation side, especially at home, and you should win. The defense, which isn't the problem most days, let us down. Ipswich is as goal-challenged as we are, at one per fixture, but they concede twice as often.

The lesson to me still seems we need to fix midfield. The only person we've had there in a decade who could pick a lock was James. We need cover for Ndiaye, and midfield creativity. Otherwise, we'll keep hoofing crosses into the box and hope to get lucky, which treads water.

This may be why we're looking to extend players we as fans would prefer to replace. If we'll end up blowing the transfer fee budget on a few expensive propositions at the most pricy positions, better to just pay wages for depth and headcount until we can afford to replace those players.

15 draws this season, two short of leveling with the record. 3 games left.

Don't know why the second half lethargy keeps turning up. Also the subs feel like they did nothing. Not involved, just us waiting to concede. Odd.

game management seems non existent.
Very similar to the United game where we went 2 up and let it slip. You could see we were losing control of the game, were not as good up top, early in the second half. When our attacks broke down Ipswich were able to run too easily into our half without being challenged. While the 3 supporting Beto worked in the first half, Garner and Gana couldn`t stop Ipswich countering and maybe getting another body alongside them and taking McNeil off might have been an option, but we wait to make changes too late.

We must be the worst team in the league for passing the ball.

The man with the ball always seems isolated with no one supporting or making any runs, it’s basic football, almost cringeworthy at times to watch. Doesn’t seem to be any combinations I.e Baines - Pienaar. Big summer coming up
It felt like we had the ball a long while one move the 2nd half, yet didnt even get a shot away but seemed to make a ton of passes to get to nowhere, other than go sideways/back

Agreed, in the second half there was a spell when we had multiple chances to cross, but instead kept ‘tippy tappying’ back and too, and in the end it went back to Pickford . Like we was in two minds.d We’re crying out for someone with even half a footballing brain to take control , a Barry type, someone who can take control and knit things together . Lack of pace is another glaring issue

Thought the ref wanted to make the game all about him, some really odd decisions for both teams, but simply not doing his job.

Need to see the Patterson challenge before the equaliser, it looked like a clear foul to me, the linesmen were both terrible, not wanting to make decisions all game.

Speaking of someone not doing there jobs, a large number of our players have downed tools since safety was assured, and that second half was one of the worst I’ve seen - Ipswich didn’t deserve a point, we gifted them it.

Terrible subs and timing of them from Moyes - chermiti, iroegbunam and even dcl should have got on much sooner. Ndiaye wasted that side, McNeil still looks unfit and is on the wrong side for me, alacaraz did ok and is miles better than doucs, which isn’t saying much, we’re just a little unbalanced.

Huge summer window, potentially the biggest in our history. If I could I would torch the squad and start again, but I think we will have a few of the out of contract lads staying, which is a little depressing.

I adore Goodison but I won’t miss results and performances like today, we need a new start at BMD, with a squad deserving of the place.

4 times this season we've let 2-0 leads slip, this should be a minimum of 10 points not the 2 we got out of it, Not good enough.
