Fantastic result to break their 19 game unbeaten streak, but I admit to being seriously worried when they were giving Pickford a workout in the first half.

Moyes made the changes needed for the second half and the performance was much better. We deserved the goals and the win after that.

Barry not ready to start at this level, (needs time), and Beto really needs to learn to aim for the corners of the goal, not the middle. He finds the keeper 9/10 times.

Grealish showed his quality with that goal. I doubt he’s scored a better one.😉

Happy though!
Nice sentiment, but I doubt Grealish knew much about it. The ball rebounded off him into the net.

Not sure who you've been watching cos it certainly can't be Garner..

But I will always back Garner and always have, love the lad..

So I'm not gonna get into a debate with you about this, cos it will never end and that won't be good for my head..

You have your opinion, and your welcome to it..
There’s a reason a very poor United squad couldn’t even offer him a regular place. He’s technically OK but slows everything down by going sidewards and backwards. Don’t dislike the lad but he’s not suited to a central role with Gana. He’s more Phil Neville than Phil Neville and has the same shooting prowess of Osman.

We're definitely looking at a different player here, or we just don't see eye to eye on his assets, he doesn't just play back or side, he plays the right quick moving ball, he looks forward and makes things look simple, he has everything in the bag. I reckon if the question was put to the team/squad who the most valued outfield player is, he would grab the vote.

The best players do the simplest of things..

( as for utd, look who they've let go and how well their ex players are doing now..

But, we just see a different player in him and thats fine..

( I'm probably alone on my view )

You’re right, it is about opinions.
I think you’re way off though with the “he has everything in the bag”… unless you’ve seen him in the Asda😳. Likewise, I think you’re equally way off if you think the players would nominate him as most valuable out field player….in truth I find that quite a bizarre statement when you consider we have the likes of Grealish, Ndiaye, Gana, Branthwaite, Tarkowski etc, but hey it’s your view.
The midfield looked so much more dynamic (and strong athletically) when Alcaraz and Tim were in there. I’d leave Garner at right back.

I made sure I kept out of the Garner thread on Sunday for this exact reason, he would brilliant at RB and same for LB or anywhere else, but why should he be shoehorned for our lack of signings for those positions..

I saw a post earlier which I totally agreed with, saying something in the terms of ' a day more with grealish is a day further away from Pep '

The exact same goes for Garner and Dyche, if it wasn't for Dyche he would have been called up by now.

Look who got players player last season, it wasn't Illy was it.

Anyway enough said, Garner is the one player I can't back down on.

I respect you have your opinion, so let me have mine..

Great post….

Miles more dynamic.

Need Garner at RB… that is by far his best position for a full strength team.

From what I saw, Grealish put his foot in to block the clearance and it went in. Could’ve gone anywhere but it didn’t and it was an attempt to play the ball.

A bit ingenuous to suggest it just rebounded off him, just as it’s wrong to say he intended it to go in. But the latter was more likely and I am more than happy to credit him with the goal.

Dom did something similar a couple of seasons ago, those that like him say it was a genuine strikers goal, those that don’t say it was a lucky rebound.

In both instances, the player was trying to play the ball, got a bit lucky, but both scored. Does not matter how, just that they did.

Quick one: Was it a poor header from Beto or just a great save? Been hearing different schools of thought on it.
He had unimpeded forward momentum and he failed to score from 4 yards out - a shocking attempt.

Beto is lovely - thumbs up on the stretcher - but not good enough.

edit: 'Unimpeded forward momentum' sounds a bit pompous - I just mean he had a clear run at it. :)

I'm going with great save. You're coached to head it down and with power for a reason as it's the most likely way to score and that's what Beto did. It's not like he had time to pick a spot and fluffed it.
