Like someone said before even if we had 11 men on the pitch I doubt it would have made much difference. We just wasnt at the races today.

Moyse made a mistake but that mistake imo didnt cost us to loose the match. Lescott should have started instead of Yobo we all know that. What has happened has happened. Time to bounce back next week.

Moyes has an obvious flaw when it comes to subs. Usually he makes them too late or not at all, this time too many in one go.
Some might argue that his subs against the shi*e won us the game, and thats true....But thats the exception rather than the rule.

Yeah agree with that. There is certainly more examples against Moyes.

Yeah but with 11 men your more likely to score goals. I don't know that for sure, neither do you - but stats are certainly in my favour and I prefer to play percentages.

we got hit on the counter twice poor defending on both accounts.. we didnt make any clear cut chances in the first half let alone the 2nd

jesus... one loss and people are jumping all over moyes again.

people really do have spectacularly short (or maybe just selective) memories

For once I agree with Chico, some fans are really fickle. One week some moan that Moyes never makes subs at the right time, then the following week he is wrong to really shake the team up with a triple sub which is whats needed when a teams playing so bad.

We were poor, and sometimes you need to really shake things up to get a reaction from a team playing so bad. We were two nil down due to just how bad we were beforehand. I would rather see Moyse gamble and be able to see him trying to turn things round than sitting there with his thumb up his arse while City continued to keep us at bay. So we ended up with 10 players, but at least Moyse gave it a go, theres no way you can predict a player will go down within two mins of such a shake up. At least Moyse was thinking of getting things going as the players on the pitch were just not doing it today. Most were looking knackered to be honest, been a hard week playing against two of the best teams in the country with such a small squad missing key players.

Yeah but if we are going to celebrate him when he does good, we need to criticise him when he does wrong.

if it was a 50/50 split, I'd agree

but given the fact that the vast majority of what he does, and HAS DONE at the club has been massively positive, I think one off day is probably permissable.

Yes it was a terrible mistake in hindsight, but hindsight is just that, but maybe he just wanted to rest key players for next week? Tired players make more mistakes and are more prone to getting injuries. That was likely the reason why Jags got injured today or maybe it was just a freak accident no one will ever know that answer.

The better team won today..only because mistakes where being made everywhere by exhausted everton players, if we hadn't have played chelsea in midweek there would only have been one result today and that would have been a comfortable win for us imo.

The blues have given everything for the cause of the blue shirt, and they desperately need to be rested..but moyse cant do that due to the size of the squad and thats the only reason we lost today.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum mate.

Simple as.

If we need to progress we need to eradicate errors, both on the pitch and off it. I don't want to see us lose any game, but it makes me especially annoyed when the manager has made mistakes tactically. It annoys me more when fans blow smoke up Everton's arse.

It happens far too often, and as soon as one of us decide we are not happy with something we are scolded for kicking off at something we feel strongly about.

Leon Osman - still gets a game, still gets 90 minutes. Surely that is a reason for many of us to raise a few eye brows.

I will not ever kiss any Everton player or managers arse - none of them are excempt from criticism and I will be sure to vent my anger if I feel justifed when I am at Goodison next season.

As 25 years as an Evertonian, I feel I have earned that right.

I can understand the resting of players, but I can't understand the triple sub. I felt that was foolish, I felt it when it happened - and 2 minutes after it happened I was proven correct.

The question you really should be asking is why we have such a small squad in the first place? We want to challenge in europe, but with so many more extra matches we all know thats going to have it's toll. The triple subs imo was symptomatic of having such a small squad that we couldnt even rest cahill for a whole match. That is shocking..and whats worse is unless moyse brings in more squad players we are likely to see more of these errors next season.

Having money or not, what good is having quality over quantity when the quality players get injured and we have to rely on academy players/fringe players to make up the numbers? Granted we have done extremely well this season, but what would happen next year when we add 18 odd matches to the total played for our small squad?

This is something moyse is going to have to address in the close season, we can't survive europe the fa cup, carling cup and maintaining our current league position next year with the same size squad can we?

The $64,000 question is for me, would more squad players have changed the result we saw today?

I like you expect us to win every match, but its clear the amount of matches in such a short period of time has clearly took its toll..i seriously doubt we would have got a result with 11 men today. But what a cracking goal by Gosling.

That's the whole picture and not much Moyes can do about that. But when you need him to micro-manage - today he has failed, and I have flagged that.

Moyes OUT.

Not really, we lost, and its a shame, because it was down to the formation. Castillo starting - fair enough - had a good game against Chelsea.

The biggest dissappointment for me was Osman starting - I knew what type of performance he would put in and he didnt disappoint. ****.

Saha was useless, he looked almost like a midfielder - coming deep into his own half, doing some skill to get past a player, but inevitably - go no-where.

Now the subs, the right players being brought on - definatly. But as said above Osman wasnt having the best of games, so i would have kept Castillo on and brought Osman off.

Instantly from that point the fans got behind the team - mostly i must say - was thanks to Vaughan, chasing every lost cause - where you watching him Saha?!

Jagielka getting injured was soul destroying, if its long term - we have lost the final - 99% guaranteed.

For 10 men i thought we did quite well, and Goslings goal was the best of the game.

Now tell me how Given was still on the pitch? Because from what ive heard raising a hand to a players face is a Red? Because thats what he did. It capped of a terrible performance from the Referee and - Main Stand - Linesman.

Shame about the result, and the performance, hopefully it will be a kick up the backside.

I agree, and on top of that 2 very clear cut valid penalties turned down by Wiley. You'll notice what I said about the refree during the match..how can he turn down 2 clear cut very valid penalties on top of not sending Elano Off for a second very bookable offense and also Mr Given should have been given his marching orders as per the letter of the law.

Putting that aside, we where knackered and it showed, but we didn't have many options on the bench..which if I where honest moyse should have addressed last summer instead of moaning about his 3 million pound contract clauses..yes i know we didnt have any money..but the fact remains KW said if we would have made the champs league for this season he would have got us the money we needed..so why didnt he anyways considering the lack of a squad we have? I do believe if we would have had a bigger squad..and i dont mean multi million pound players, we could have rested many of the first teamers against chelsea and we would not have been in the position we where today..but hopefully moyse will go to kenwrong and demand more money, and to demand it now so at the start of the new transfer window he can go shopping, even if its only loans for the season (and 2 / 3 regular quality signings). We know we need a bigger squad.

For KW its either put more money on the deck or move on..the lads have been brillian this season especially with all the adversity of injuries, but we can't go on like this season after season and in this close season its either deliver more money for a bigger squad or he (KW) needs to walk away because he is crippling us. Who do we bring in? i have no idea..there is little point being a fan and a chairman if you have no money..it isnt going to help us one iota.
