can’t quite believe that

shouldve walked that and the crowd and players were really up for it chasing the 2nd to kill the game

sitter from barry after all hard work done

crazy 8 mins but really poor defending for both goals

sending off just the cherry on top, coming from another woeful bit of football from mykolenko

refusual to make any changes bar keane following that was staggering

I know Iraola is highly regarded, but their tactics from the very start were clearly about time-wasting, suffocating the crowd and killing the game. It was exactly the sort of thing Moyes has done in our away games. The full-back rolling the ball onto the pitch instead of just picking it up and taking the throw summed it up. It’s killing football, it really is.

That said, no sour grapes. I’m not going to get too down about it after the unexpected win at the weekend. I do feel for the kids though – another night that started with excitement and ended with a late finish. They’d better be good in the morning!

I’ll leave the tactics to others, but a few minor observations:
  • Ndiaye made very little effort to stop the cross. He has to get there quicker.
  • Gueye moved the ball too slowly for me, went to ground too often, and Bournemouth kept breaking because of it.
  • Barry just has to score one of those two chances and it’s a completely different game.
  • Mykolenko was getting slaughtered as usual, but the first goal was simply a very good header. He had a runner on him and the lad really attacked it. The problem was further up the pitch with the cross. I was right in line with it in the North Stand.
  • Branthwaite’s distribution was dire in the first half but excellent in the second. Defensively, I actually thought he looked a little shaky overall.
  • George took risks, which was good to see. Promising performance, I thought.
  • KDH and Garner both gave absolutely everything with 10 men. I’d like to see them alongside each other more, and on the ball more.
Oh and they messed up z cars again.

Anyway, that’s all.

Bloody Bournemouth.

Agreed.

N’diaye is doing my head in since he got back from afcon. Tried to take on too many now and is loosing the ball everytime.

This season is going as I expected with a finish in mid-table likely, well clear of relegation worries.

We all know we don’t have premier league quality players in several positions, (full backs and strikers most impacted). We also have a very light bench.

Personally I think European football would do more harm than good next season, with the squad we have, and we would suffer in the league.

Need to be patient I think.

I thought we were terrible most of the game ,Didn't deserve the lead and didn't deserve to lose the second goal -an offside player goes for the ball doesn't quite get his head on it and the player behind scores it -not the Harrison one that was disallowed but the Bournemouth one that was given .I am a great fan of the var idea but this has to stop .Two almost identical goals and two opposite decisions .
Other than KDH and Garner we were hopeless outfield .terrible again it has to be said . Moyes doesn't like to play young players as they have no experience last night he did and it was a mistake George was on another wavelength and needs more time to get to know the lads around him .
Oh and Give Gana and Illi the next game off .

Great fan of the VAR idea? It's an appalling idea in a sport which has mostly subjective calls. Open to match fixing hugely

That AFC BOURNEMOUTH result was on the players and our squad depth but remember Fulham had a load of chances against us and lost the game.

There is not much between the teams in this league so you have to slot your chances.
