Couldn't make today's game as had gone to Wales for the week, so my nephew took my ticket. We've been so poor recently I've been concerning worried about him 'losing faith' at an early age. He always used to be, 3-1 win to us no matter who we were playing and recently he's been going 1-1 today and losing that blind faith - which is part of growing up I guess. Hoping he had an amazing time!
Anyway, related to Wales. I walked Snowdonia yesterday and I weigh a lot and it's took its tole on me, so was in the spa at the country club where I was staying and was in the steam room. Lad says "what do you make of the blues today", naturally I was confused as I wasn't wearing Everton gear and all i had on my swimming shorts and my oversized man boobs. Anyway he said he saw me walking with the home shirt on.
He's a red, he said in 30mins he's driving back to Liverpool, to take his next door neighbour, who is unwell, old age and fragile to Goodison for what is likely to be the last time. Then driving back to the holiday park after the game. Fair play to him, thought when the final whistle that A. The old man will have a positive experience for the last time at Goodison and B. A red has gone unbelievably out of his way for a blue, a neighbour and made that happen. Not all reds are cretins, was a really positive story I've just remembered, and don't want to forget.
