Called it and I'm sick of this. Why isn't the manager giving us the best chance to go and win games?

If anyone is still supporting him, can they defend this instead of throwing lazy replies about the past few years at me?
Sure. Moyes is a cautious manager. He has always been a cautious manager so it should be no surprise to anyone that he is still a cautious manager.

His first instinct is to put out a team that has the least chance of losing. He has always done this, this also shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

We don't have a very good team. We have a small squad. Most of the squad are more used to relegation battles than challenging for Europe. They have been very succesful at that for the last few years, but they have not been very succesful at dominating and winning games.

So when a cautious manager has very few top players at his disposal, and most of those players are able to battle hard but not very good at dominating teams, then it would be rather foolish to suggest that he ignores all of those factors and goes out against a team that are currently in a great vein of form and try to play them off the park.

Under Dyche I agree the squad was poor from an attacking point of view especially having Doucoure as the 10. Moyes though has had Grealish, Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, George, Alcaraz and Dibling who are all rated in the game to various degrees. His insistence on playing defensive full backs, a midfield with a poor technician in Gueye and shoe-horning Armstrong as a wide forward is quite frankly done with the sole purpose of stopping the opposition play. He overrates the opposition constantly and has a serious inferiority complex which transmits into his defensive tactics, team selections and lack of progressive substitutions. He simply can't be given next season or we'll fall further behind whilst teams like Tottenham and Newcastle get their acts together

You keep believing if it makes you happy .

I give up calling Moyes out ,he doesn't / will not change . He couldn't set a team up to attack if he tried .I remember Osman telling his last instruction going out on the pitch "Try not to lose " .We need a manager with some flair ,we don't have a bad squad at all we have a frightened man setting them up .Gana needs a rest Garner and Tim looked to be getting sorted while the AFCON was on but as soon as they arrived back Jimmy gets played left back .
I he had Cole Palmer and Phil Foden he would have them playing full back ,I am fed up of this try not to lose attitude ,surely the top brass can see we are going nowhere and are lucky to be where we are in the table .Moyes out .

Talking of Osman and Arteta he had them playing as wingers when they were both excellent technicians who were both suited to playing in the middle. He's always going to be playing players out of position even if we do buy more players in the summer to address the areas that need addressing

I love that we played one through ball (that was over hit by Kdh to illy) the whole game. Strikers are not the problem. A lack of pace, athleticism and creativity is.

I lost track of how many times garner won the ball high up the pitch and we did nothing with it ever after that. We need an attacking coach and set piece coach desperately. This season will fizzle out and yes I have perspective compared to the last 5 and we have come along way but we also have a huge opportunity to get Europe/broaden our name/make money and Moyes’ pragmatism/negativity is stunting that imo

I just couldn't understand our tactics at corners, where has that come from? It was pathetic, wasteful and nearly had Tarky sent off as a result.
Tarky is a walking red card. Someone needs to tell him to stop being a hard man and concentrate on playing the game.

Amazed he didn’t get at least a yellow for the off the ball barge on Cunha. Every game lately he does something silly like this.

I think it’s time for a reset Europe ain’t happening and if it did would be a disaster with the size of squad.
For rest of season build for next, play the O Brien and Branth at CBs time to build understanding and would be good partnership.Aznou and garner FBs
Dibling and Illie wide George through middle
KDH Harrison kohl
Give Graham minutes where possible
As a fan that travels 350 miles round trip for home games I would be prepared to loose a few if there was a plan for next season
Then of course get RB & CB in the summer.
Corners were a disaster need to have a plan B & C even if we did get one in VARwould have found something to disallow

Being honest i can't take much more of this beyond the next few months, it's tiresome seeing another manager too set in his ways to understand modern football is a different entity now, this feels like the days of Allardyce where we'd grind the points to 8th and all be miserable after seeing 1 shot on target in about 5 games.

Tarky's legs have been gone all season, he won't drop him, Keane shouldn't be playing if Branthwaite is fit, he'll move Branthwaite and drop Myko.

We've been considerably better with Patterson in the team recently, won't play him, Coleman is back fit, won't throw him on for 15 and get Garner in midfield.

Hired a jobs for the boys set piece coach who was usless and got fired, so took control himself with his staff and it's still useless and won't hire someone qualified.

Armstrong is a good young lad that should be getting game time centrally, will keep putting him out wide with no overlapping full back or runners. Would have been better off at Preston.

40 million lad on the bench is now about 6th choice and can't even sniff a minute when trailling in games with 3 subs unused.

He is too rigid, stubborn, it's not an arguement it's better than Dyche but if that away form falls off a cliff he'll be lucky to see May.
I completely agree, finally a post I can get behind. I not saying we should sack Moyes but we definitely need to assess the situation at the end of the season.

I think they played well and were very unlucky not to get a result but they never looked like scoring unfortunately.
