Everton’s Greatest Transfer Saga

Why is it we can only do one transfer at a time ?
Dead weird that.

Rooney leaving was torturous.
Thought about this myself. Either:

Serial transfers, rather than parallel, because Contract Dave only has 1 pen.

Also, the computer they use for transfers has to load its operating system each morning from 350 cassette tapes * by which time there's only 5 minutes of the day left.

* I suspect many of you out there won't even know what a cassette is, let alone the agony we oldies had to endure using them to store and load computer software just to play a blocky monochrome game.

mata - ours

witsel - ours

lol lol lol

have we ever done any dealings without looking foolish, like ... ever ?

Cant remmeber the full story but A transfer failure mess up i can remember was some brazilian in the 1990s. I cant remember his name but he had flown over. Was in and around goodison but someone messed up. It was a big mess up at the time.

Lukaku saga and the failure to bring in a replacement before he was sold was the buggest mess up in recent history. A blind man could forsee the problems. In simples.. player in first. Lukaku then offloaded.. but no...

were yet to do a leicester and sign someone 14 seconds late and have him miss half the season.... BUT we do now have the manager (Shakespeare) here at Everton who instigated it..

The one that was most frustrating and gut wrenching was Collymore. We were battling the sh*te for him, and at one point looked like we were winning the race......8m I think it was wasnt it? Huge money. Would have been a massive statement. Alas, it didnt happen. A few months later we had Steve Watson up front...........

The best was reading a newspaper on the roof of a Cairo hotel to read we'd signed the completely exotic unknown youngsters Materazzi, Dacourt and Bakayoko.
7 serie A titles, a champions league and a world cup between them. Id like to see Walsh beat that.

Remember when we thought we had Roy Keane in the bag the time he went to Celtic. Did'nt he say in his book too that he wanted the move to Everton but we didnt push it thru and he went to Celtic instead.
He had a lot of good things to say about Everton in that book.
Would have loved him in CM

The only people who see them as sagas as the ones glued to twitter and news channels as they eek out tiny bits of information to keep you hooked on a needle like a Norris Green crack seller.

You massive bunch of utter virgins.

The twitter and news channel generation should think themselves lucky.

Was a time we used to stare at Teletext and Ceefax all day whilst dialling premium rate telephone numbers which had lured us in with a headline like "Everton about to sign international striker" only to find out after hanging on for twenty minutes that we were looking to sign someone who once played for East Germany u23.
