I'm sure my bank is as messed up as all the others. I'm just nowhere near all that sort of caper.

Never underestimate what the banks will do to gain what is not rightfully theirs. We have a friend who a few years ago faced reposession over a debt the bank said was 125k. We went to Court with him and proved the debt was less than 30k. Thankfully the Judge gave him 12 months to find the money to repay the debt which he did.

No matter how difficult the circumstances always fight the banks. Particularly the sub prime lenders!
