For me the Eurovision Song Contest is a bit like dog racing, I know it exists and I know that there are people who like it but I personally don’t want to see it.
Think this song is crap mate. Bottom 3.United Kingdom, nil poi.
They all hate us regardless of the songs.
Yeah, we've got it on in there, I'll keep a futon spareThe bomb shelter it is tonight then....
Posted this elsewhere, but they are both a bit hamstrung from not performing in the semi finals (it's automatic qualification for France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Uk by dint of chucking the most broadcasting cash around). In a normal year that can be overcome by touring the song and getting plenty of radio air play, this year it's not really happened for either nation.Betting odds have it that France or Italy got this.
I think you're looking for the 'one man and his dog ' thread KurtIf wales or Scotland entered this as independent countries they’d probably win... it’s the English nobody likes.
Backed Italy myself.Posted this elsewhere, but they are both a bit hamstrung from not performing in the semi finals (it's automatic qualification for France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Uk by dint of chucking the most broadcasting cash around). The whole line up is a dirge of solo artists performing indistinguishable pieces, in my opinion it's one of the weakest years in a run of weak years. If you were going to punt on either it's a choice between France's Piaf style song and the livelier Italian number.
Italy will finish top five minimum, Malta could be the value bet to win; don't be put off by them getting a first half draw, four of the last six have won from the first half and Malta are surrounded by dross and have a path to picking up votes.
Lithuania at 66/1 might be worth a tickle as an each way shout.
But, for the first time in ages I am not punting on anyone this year because the usual variables of promoting songs, getting radio time and generating momentum haven't been available.
Plenty of reasons to advocate for that, not least the song is different stylistically and has a good draw from 24th position in the running order. Italy has the diaspora to generate momentum also.Backed Italy myself.
I think they hate the English on there too lolI think you're looking for the 'one man and his dog ' thread Kurt
