Europe Thread 25/26

A point against City and then 6 against a Palace side with nothing to play for and players who want to avoid injury to play in a Euro final, and Sunderland at home.

Down to the last day then and some bravery from us and we're home and hosed.

That point against City if we get it will give us ENORMOUS belief.
A slight whiff of optimism in this post Dave.

You feeling okay babe? x

so monday night game us the option to either gift the title to arsenal or possibility of europe slips away even further bit of an all lose situation.

No.

You cant qualify for the CL via the League below 5th.

If we dont finish 5th or higher we wont be in the CL.

There can be 11 teams from England in Europe, but now LFC are out, would require Arsenal to finish 8th, and win CL, Forest to win Europa, and Palace win the Conference and not qualify via the league.

Have you accepted you are wrong on this yet mate!? 6th will get Champions league if Villa win the Europa and finish 5th.

We should beat Palace, Sunderland & Spurs.

The problem is the frightened manager.
He's afraid of his own shadow. It's why, for all the good he has done, he only has one trophy to show for a very long managerial career. You can be defensive and win a trophy. But Moyes is timid. There's a difference.

At this stage, he is going to have to do something different. If we are going to sit in against City, fine. But it should be with different personnel. McNeil may as well not be on the pitch and JOB will be run ragged by Doku.

Then, the other games, he needs to throw caution to the wind. If we go for every game and come up short, then so be it. Going into games afraid of our own shadow as we did against Brentford, Liverpool and West Ham, will not yield any of the results required.

But Moyes will do the same to the point of blood-boiling frustration.

Sitting back against City is fine but on the counter we need to be either quick, deadly or both.

Dwight McNeil is none.

Alcaraz & George have to come in for the quick transitions.

The issue with that is that both Alcaraz and George give the ball away too easily as we'll get caught on the transition and they'll break on us. This isn't the game for that (not that they'll play anyway).
