Europe Thread 25/26

I worry that mentally we're spent now after that sucker punch on sunday. Really need to pick ourselves up and beat a poor west ham side.

Moyes wont want Europe. Despite what he's said.

He knows he cant cope with two games per week and we'd slide down the table big time.

Personally, Ild sacrifice a mid table season to finish 15th and get us our European profile back. The fans would receive an almighty needed boost, and Ilm sure the owners would too from a financial perspective.

The only person who'd benefit from not qualifying is Moyes.

How do we get our European profile back by finishing 15th? How is that better than finishing 9th?

By winning the FA Cup whilst finishing 15th...

One season we need to be back in Europe then push again...besides, a cup final appearance can get you back in Europe in a poor league season.

We need this stadium and this team to get into Europe agin. There's no doubting that. If it means we slump for a season, so be it.

So he's just been lying to his own players all season long? Interesting take.

He's said more than once that European football has damaged other clubs in the PL this season. So you can guarantee he's thought long and hard about qualifying with us with next season's PL campaign in mind.

The sweet landing zone for Moyes is top half (8th-9th preferably) which would be impressive enough for the owners but with no down side of playing two games per week next season.

When considering Moyes - as I've said before - ALWAYS start with the position that what choices he makes and targets he sets are the ones that fit in with what's best for Moyes. Sometimes that coincides with what's best for all of us, sometimes not...as per the early cup exits.

So basically you, with zero insider knowledge here, believe Moyes doesn't want Europe, even though our own players have said he's spoken about Europe since Day 1, and think he's just been lying to everyone about his ambitions?

Interesting.

You're very naive.
