No idea who we can draw, but for reference, West Ham drew a team from Malta at this stage last season. Knocked out the following round by Astra FC of Romania

My understanding is there is a seeding system, made up from; what country you are from and the performance of that team in Europe in the last 5 seasons. Which gives you your coefficient number. Depending on who else qualifies we might get drawn in the good pot or the bad pot. Most likely the good pot and then get drawn against a lower ranking team.

Yah, I know there is seeding, which they'll use for groups, just didn't know if seeding was used in the qualifying draw as well. Of course, there are good teams with low seeding, so that's no guarantee of your opponent's quality. Newcastle are higher ranked than Everton.

Basically the scope is because our coefficient is 29.054 (or something similar), we're gonna be one of the top 5 teams in regards to coefficient in the 3rd Qualifying round.

Which if you're basing benchmarks from prior seasons. Grasshopper Zurich (9.855) in 2016 was the "best" side we could have faced. But what will happen is we'll know of the 5-6 teams we could face before hand as they allocate teams into groups (I'm not sure what the procedure for that is mind, i believe it could be absolutely random), then they just draw balls from each pot usually numbers 1-5, 6-10 and whichever is out first is at home first and so on. So e.g. they draw our teams "3" vs. "8", we'd see all those drawn.

From this years draw, there are very few unseeded teams I wouldn't fancy our chances against, some iffy ties like Osmanlispor, Basaksehir really.

Same process however, and well know the 5 potential teams we COULD face before the draw is made, it's just a question of where we'll play first.

Hajduk Split is from my region, I'm currently in Split.

Hosting Everton here would be a mindf*ck for me, since I'm a big fan of both; Hajduk since the day I was born(it's how it goes) and Everton since I was aware of myself.

I'd love to see Everton play at Poljud, but I wouldn't want to see either of them knocked out of Europa.

I hope we draw Rijeka, I hate those mugs.
