I've just read that Arsenal and Chelsea have sold only half of their 6,000 ticket allocation for the final in Baku.
Even given the logistics and the mutton-headed decision to host the final in such a backwater, I'd like to think that if Everton got to the final of such a trophy we'd have a hell of a lot more than 1,500 making the journey.

Everton fans would sell out any place, any time, any where in the world, its just the way we are,No place is to far it seems for us.saying that i think Arsenal will win this

One thing I don’t understand.

UEFA moved the CL final to a Saturday night a few years ago, saying playing on the weekend was much more convenient for travelling fans.

And I applaud that decision as it is undoubtedly true for the vast majority of people.

But why do they not apply the same logic to the EL final?

Especially if they decide to hold it in such a remote and inaccessible city.

I'm rooting for Chelsea. Also, sending it to Baku is particularly ridiculous considering that Mkhitaryan can't play now, because he's Armenian.

I think given the situation and our lack of success absolutely. I know we've got fellas who have seen us when we were great in the 80's on here who'll disagree, but if we were regularly making finals, and expected to go to Baku like that, i think we'd probably sell it, but not like we'd over subscribe it, if I'm being honest.

I reckon we'd JUST do it.

There’s a hell of a lot of reasons they haven’t sold their allocations. I don’t think the “better fanbase” trophy really applies here if I’m honest.

I'd like to think so, but Baku? That's pushing it. The officials in Baku expected fans to fly to Georgia and make the final 580km on land somehow. Its absurd.

If Arsenal and Chelsea had been starved of trophies for 25 years like we have im guessing they'd sell them out with ease despite all the reported issues with the allocations, travel etc.

Other than the distance and logistics what are the reasons? Neither side are exactly trophy-laden recently. As it’s purely hypothetical I’ll trot out the better fanbase theory, ta.

I respect those who'd go. But I'm never going to that city, ever. I'll watch TV.

Ticket packages offered to season ticket holders, well Chelsea's I read, were like 1000 euros before the ticket. They also required landing, seeing the game, and flying out the same day.

So many on this board complain fairly about the price to go to games and big money.

Yet they got a G for not even day trip. That's all talk. Not too mention who wants to go there.

UEFA botched it.

I don't understand these Eastern European/Caucasus countries, they are pushing hard to get finals like that, to improve tourism, getting known, advertisement etc. yet they are terrible organising packages for foreign supporters. all money they invested are for nothing now. bravo

The fact a player can’t travel because of safety fears, the cheapest way of getting there being around £800-900 and not even slightly simple, difficulties getting there because you can’t get in from neighbouring countries and the distinct lack of direct flights.

I’m sure 6000 Everton fans would go to Baku midweek with a nice stop over in Ethiopia though.
