Euro2020 Knock Out Rounds

My guess is England go 3-4-3 to match up what Denmark usually do. So that's Trippier back in and a decision to make whether he goes with Sancho or someone else on the right. Maybe he puts Mount out there to not drop him? Tough to say. I'd be surprised if he goes with a 4 at the back but it would certainly be the more confident way of going about it. I'm guessing he tries to repeat the Germany display instead.

The three lions have awoken for the day and are looking for their (plant based) breakfast. Will they be seduced by the mermaid later?

I make Denmark the favourites today. The match is being broadcast on ITV, the English media has been embarrassing yet again so they’ll be inspired by that, their Viking Spirit, with the knowledge that Valhalla awaits them and the spirit of Christian Eriksen. England don’t have that and all the pressure is on England and we know how that goes. I’ll be utterly shocked if England progressed.

what about captain tom???

Italy were unimpressive last night (losing that LB really hit them it seems) England should win the final fairly easy.

They didn’t play as high up as they have been previously and were happy to let spain have most of the possession, but they still showed a lot of quality and organisation and were very dangerous when they did have the ball

In many ways it was an old school Italian display.

England have enough quality to get the job done but a lot of people underestimate Denmark, Really solid team with decent players and they work really hard.

The desperation from the anti-England posters has been slowly building for a few days now. Looking forward to reading more of the same throughout today.

Looking forward to reading the desperation but not going to respond today, not worth it.

To discuss the game in an adult manner I would say that in a qualifier or group game England would be good favourites (still not big favourites, as is with international tournaments), maybe 60/40, at most.

However, this is a semi final. I would say it is 50/50. Denmark are a very good team and riding an emotional wave. If the bigger England players come to the fore then I think England can win but it won't be easy, this England side know this and will hopefully be as focused as they possibly can be.

It will be nice to see Grealish or Foden come in for Phillips, and spring a more attacking surprise on Denmark but I don't think it will happen. If I was to go for the lineup against Germany or Ukraine, it has to be Ukraine for me. I have, however, given up criticising Southgate's decisions after the Germany game :)
