Its weird, i want England to win but at the same time i will totally enjoy us getting absolutely pasted just as a finger up to Gareth for being such a negative nancy
 
Even so, England could still win this and if they do, they’re clear favorites to make the final which they’d then play at home. Southgate could plod his way to a title.
 

I think Southgate's plan here is actually fairly reasonable, Germany are a good side going forward and you don't want to give them space especially in wide areas so he's countered that. The disappointing part is he's done that at the expense of playing a bunch of good players and hasn't had the confidence to try and take the game to Germany instead.

Basically he's seen what Hungary did and gone for similar. So yeah that's a bit of a conservative decision.
 
Watching on German TV. They’re very encouraged by the line up. Personally I’ll reserve judgment till after the game
