Point being, those sides can beat you or get a result. Pot 2 had some soft teams, and Pots 3 and 4 had a sizable amount of chaff in them. There won't be a lot of margin for error in England's group. You should get there, but it's the sort of group where one of the top two teams often disappoints.

And in the blue corner, Italy. Though I doubt they will mess up 2 tournament qualifications in a row.

If Southgate is still in charge, they'll be uninspiringly effective at getting through. If not, then that might make it more interesting.

There’s no way England don’t qualify.

It’s modelled now so the big sides get further opportunities if they stumble.

40% of 7 of the 10 groups Qualify automatically. If you’re in the top 20 of the UNL rankings, you’re guaranteed a play off spot effectively.

Had that been a WC qualifying group, I’d have been worried. But can comfortable see 10-12 at home and a further 7-9 away.

Scotland 100% have a play off spot, and by process so do Wales. Would be shocked to not see all 3 male the finals. Not sure I can say the same for Republic and 100% not the Norn.

That's a difficult group for Ireland

England won't have it easy either. Malta are the only tomato can in there. Going to places like Macedonia won't be easy
