Putin funded the leave campaign.
Sputnik and RT pushed Brexit in the UK
Russian troll farms pushed propaganda on social platforms.
Russia targeted people like Farage for support.
The conservative party is up to it's armpits in oligarch money, these oligarchs are de facto Russian agents and are intent on helping Putin who wanted to break up NATO, breaking up the EU was a step in the process
In 2020 the conservative government said “Russian influence in the UK is the new normal […] the UK is clearly a target for Russian disinformation.”
The tories don't want to fully come clean because it delegitimizes their government.
It was in Putins interest to destabilize the west and he knew he could weaponize ardent nationalism.
He did it in the UK, he did it in the US, he tried in places like France and the Netherlands. He's trying now in Russia.

As posted before, my many years as a Civil Servant had me regularly frustrated in my dealings with the EU Commission. However, reality means we stay in and battle. The benefits of a tariff free market of over 500m far outweigh pulling out.
17 million didn't need to be convinced, just .
All he wanted was to sew unrest.

But I thought all leave voters were old, yet it’s only the young and the egotists who use Twitter. The vast majority of posters on here voted remain if I remember correctly, or did the Russians overlook this place. Leave won, Remainers cannot get over it and will winge and cry and pretend it was Putin. Of course that only happened after we were called old, racists, xenophobic, stupid, etc etc because Remainers could not get their young, intelligent, wonderful heads around the fact that we did not want to be part of the EU and it’s future aims……

My point was that all he needed to do was convince enough people to swing the vote. Thousands not millions. And he succeeded.
It's my opinion that Russian interference got leave over the line.
I don't think he convinced all 17m to vote leave but a fraction of that, yea, I'm fairly sure that happened.

Yep, and none of this is news. It's exactly what happened in the US in 2016 as well. That and Brexit were done the exact same way
