In a democratic vote wherein a simple majority is the rider, abstentions are as valid as votes either way. Leave had that simple majority.

Nope. The majority of people who voted in the referendum voted to leave. It’s quite a big difference and not just semantics

The vote was open to everyone 16 and over legal to vote in this country. If you didn't vote then shut the hell up because you don't get a say (not you personally , anyone who moans but didn't vote)
