The EU saying a deal can get done last few minutes
It's always been possible, they had a deal with May's WA that almost every leave voter hated. With the Benn Act in place the EU are only going to negotiate for the WA or something which gives more concessions to them (ie a softer Brexit) - hard to look beyond the Customs Partnership that May proposed. The EU saying a deal can get done last few minutes
said on the radio it looks like he has given concessions ?It's always been possible, they had a deal with May's WA that almost every leave voter hated. So effectively, Johnson is coming back with a deal with more concessions or he's asking for an extension (or the courts are doing it for him).
Of course he has. The EU aren't negotiating any concessions beyond May's deal and Johnson can't come back with May's WA looking exactly as it does. So it's a Brexit, that I'm sure will be championed by many, that is Brexit in name only.said on the radio it looks like he has given concessions ?
I have said if it was remotely like the May deal i would sooner stay in, more than likely something like that so he can look like he has tried before the election, if the commons knocks it back he can line himself up as against parliament, political maneuvering by him and his party.Of course he has. And we will have traded the best deal we could've possibly had with the EU for it.

Or it could be passed with the proviso a referendum was attached to it.Even if a deal did get sorted that was workable mate, and was acceptable to all, it would still get voted down by Parliament because there are too many agenda's in there.

It sounds like Johnson is forcing a customs union on NI and the DUP are having to like it or lump it. The dogs breakfast 'two-customs' idea he put forward last week has been all but dismissed and he's caved in.
It's bascially a worse deal than May's and will be rejected by the LP front bench on the grounds it doesn't meet its 'five conditions'.
If the LP get behind a 2nd referendum, enough Tory rebels would back it. The numbers are there for it.The only motion put forward that would be overwhelming voted in favour of would be revoking article 50 Dave.
Even something that included a second referendum would be voted down IMO because, I honestly think that Parliament are worried a second referendum could go the same way as the first (I would still vote remain) and they know if that happened they wouldn't have the leverage they have now mate.

Well yes, it's emboldened the EU. But if someone consistently lies, misleads, serve their own interests, disregards the rule of law, undermines constitutional conventions, surrounds themselves with advisors that advocate this activity while holding a position of power, then maybe the sensible thing to do is to put some safeguards up against people like that.because of the Benn act......

I'd also point out that, in almost every position he's had in public office, he's either been self serving or stunningly incompetent - or bothYeah but ignore that... leave means leave
