There isn't even a debate. I actually wish there was.

That's actually the problem with this whole thing. Nobody wants to debate; everyone just wants to be right.
The debates been had, nothing on the leave side holds up to scrutiny. Every single argument put forward by leave voters has been proven false, a lie or unachievable.

This isn't about debate and right or wrong, it's about power and 'winning' (regardless of the consequences).

Which is why No Deal is now the prize, it's the position that requires no debate, no conversation, no detail - it just means that people can say 'we won'.

And everybody else can be blamed for the consequences.

Pathetic anology....
No it's a very good one, which demonstrates accurately how a government can ask the advice of the people on an important matter, and when the outcome of that advice is received must then decide how to implement it.

If they can't find an agreed way forward they either must keep trying until they do, or ask the people again if they still want to go ahead with it. That is purer democracy.

But that’s not democracy is it? It’s just an amount. Democracy is how it’s enacted. We don’t live in a tyranny of the majority

Unfortunately we usually do!

The great achievement of the Good Friday Agreement was to ensure that one group of views could not walk all over others with a significant size of different views.

The days of A Protestant Parliament for a Protestant people" were finally put to bed.

The shennanigans around Brexit and some of the utterances of Arlene and her acolytes display a hankering to return to the good old days of 1922 when Catholics/Nationalists were told to keep their heads down and bow to the ruling elite.

Too much has been achieved in the past 25 years in terms of respect for minority views to sit back and allow it all to unravel.

Well put. I'm really looking forward to the next week or two as this plays out. Be brilliant to see the DUP gorillas exposed for what they are when even their constituents and business supporters turn their back.

For old Arlene and Dodds to defend No Deal in the 6 counties is quite the challenge. Likewise having them argue against say a NI referendum to oversee consent is another toughie!

BoJo may not need all the DUP votes......

If one of ARFO's lot go, they all go, JECO will whip behind a vote against, JOSWI will vote against, NISTU and the SNP will be against.

How do you think it will pass JOSI?

ARFO, JECO, JOSWI, NISTU, SNP
