It sounds like you need Blackadder to explain that part when the Nazis turned from just a nice bunch of blokes with Germany's interests at heart into a mass murdering killing machine. I mean the Nazis were still the Nazis in 1932 when they won the German elections.

This was their manifesto back then. Funnily enough, invading Poland doesn't warrant a mention.

this has got nothing to do with Brexiteers voting to leave the EU.

to even be associated with the likes of the Nazi's and what they did is totally wrong. period.

im sure if Farage got into power here and tried to start some kind of Nazi movement then it would soon be stopped. but that is all very much not going to happen now is it.

You’re making the mistake of linking the beliefs and ideologies of nazism with the actions of the nazis when they were in control of Germany in the 30’s.

Nazism is a set of ideals and beliefs. The same set of ideals and beliefs that many who voted leave share.

You've got members of the sitting government supporting far right parties in Germany, which, lest we forget, was where this all started. Please don't fall into the silly trap of believing Lammy's (and indeed Heseltine's) comments about the ERG were made about all Brexit voters, because they patently weren't.

I also think that some automatically link Nazi to Gas Chambers.

Without realising the narrative that led to that. Not for a moment suggesting the conclusion would be chambers, but the ugly narrative would be similar. Well, is.

Nationalism. Tick
Populist promises. Tick
Blame someone else for everything. Tick.

your right . I don't see that at all.

Hitler’s most important individual contribution to the theory and practice of Nazism was his deep understanding of mass psychology and mass propaganda. He stressed the fact that all propaganda must hold its intellectual level at the capacity of the least intelligent of those at whom it is directed and that its truthfulness is much less important than its success. According to Hitler:
It is part of a great leader’s genius to make even widely separated adversaries appear as if they belonged to but one category, because among weakly and undecided characters the recognition of various enemies all too easily marks the beginning of doubt of one’s own rightness.
