There is no problem with salt. There is with sodium chlorate, which is a totally different chemical. It is not the same thing. Salt being washed into our waterways from roads is not a problem. If sodium chlorate was being washed into the waterways it would be a problem. You started this by confusing sodium chlorate with salt and thinking they were the same thing when they aren't.

I stated they were similar ......
Pure mined crude rock salt is put on our roads in the winter - washes into our waterways.....
