It’s incredible what it’s done to the country , it’s mad that the issue has effectively split the two major political parties but also been so divisive to the country .

I don’t mean this as a like for like comparison because it’s clearly not applicable on those terms but when I used to look at what happened in a country like Yugoslavia I just found is so difficult to understand . Then you see the division and anger a single issue like Brexit has caused here and the way certain figures leap on it to generate disaffection and it’s certainly a little easier to follow.
Stick em up mush

NOWWW!

Cameron, via Parliament(?) for whatever reasons, rightly or wrongly etc, gave the vote back to the people who voted Leave.
Now it turns out it isnt, or so I've been told, actually binding...will nobody rid me of this turbulent debate...
Will some politician just put his, or her foot on the ball and say, sorry peeps its all got a bit silly and impractical, not to mention devisive. - Im pulling the plug on the whole brexit thing, sorry but its for the best etc. Then drive up to Buck house and tell Queenie - I want to desolve Parliament and try and get some order back.

Won't happen though - vested Interests, personal ambition and such

The only way brexit can be stopped is through a counter referendum.

To suggest anything else is fundamentally undemocratic and sets a precedent that no vote held in this country really means anything legally.

It was never binding in the sense of legally it must be upheld, but Cameron offered it to the public with the assurance that parliament promised to accept the result.

Add to that, they pretty much said in their manifestos that Brexit was now part of their direction, so to go against that would (in their eyes) but a step too far.

But if the vote was - from the get go, none binding. Parliament just says nope sorry, this wasnt such a good idea.
There are after all a multitude of lawas they passed that 'the people' were 'against' but mostly grew to live with.
Well they can just learn to unlive without brexit.

I'm all for brexit, but its about not what you want but what you need...or in this case don't need
And as a Country we don't need this, the cure is worse than the problem

Or they'll just continue to ignore the first one and extended article 50 for the indefinite future, wait several years and an election or two then quietly revoke it. By then everyone on both sides will just be so thoroughly sick of the whole episode that the vast majority won't care one way or the other anymore.....

It was clear at the time that the government would act on the result. Otherwise you don't bother with the vote. To overturn democratic exercises you need to have another contrary democratic exercise. Otherwise you can't claim to be a democracy.

The country will be absolutely fine after brexit. The hysteria has been ridiculous. The people who support revoking article 50 aren't Democrats imo. If they revoke then no vote in this country truly matters.

But they make up all sorts of stories to suit Thier pro EU agenda.

They will literally say anything.

Like @Old Blue 2 says.. The sky won't be falling in on anyone

Clear was it? dare say there's a clip of Cammo saying 'not binding'

Fine and noble sentiments timbo and you may even be right, but that ship sailed years ago...but if they spin it right...and they can - tbh, most will be glad its all gone away and 'k theoretical democratic principles.

You cant have another vote, just not on, for the democratic reasons you state...but you can find a loophole - thats politics 101 that is.
Then drive a politcal Status Quo horse and cart through it
