I think that labour might regret not voting for the referendum amendment. Sometimes you've got to take your chance when the moment arises. There's a chance that May could get her deal through at the last minute and then the long game looks a bit daft. Not a massive one imo but you never know these days.

So they will seek a 3 months delay if the deal is approved by 20 March.

If they don't get approval next Wednesday, then that means they will ask for a lengthy delay. Which the EU will only be too happy to accommodate.

The Benn amendment seemed sensible. Trying to find a common ground all parties agree on to get a majority vote on the deal rather than leave it to the Tories.
