The problem is there isn’t a deal that solves the Irish problem , the ERG say they have got a solution but aren’t willing to tell us and the same with members of the Labour Party who are using it as a stick to beat May. We can all criticise, and god knows I will , but there isn’t a workable solution it’s a circle that can’t be squared so the only way round it seems to be putting off making the decision .

There is, it’s called the Single Market. In fact if HMG wanted to be really evil then they could use the privileged status afforded to citizens of the Republic (compared to the rest of the EU) and SM membership to put pressure on the 27 and get a better deal.

We won’t though, because HMG are crap.

They didn't, and it wasn't her deal.

It was a deal negotiated between both parties for about 18 months.

The sticking point was the Irish border issue which delayed it being agreed any earlier.

May finally accepted that she would have to agree to the backstop as the rights of citizens in NI to remain European citizens is enshrined in an international treaty. The alternative was no agreement at all.

That's the position she found herself in. The idea that she proposed the deal and the EU readily agreed to it is pure fantasy.

@BigBlueNose

In others words, shut up Frank.

The writing was on the wall when the EU commission agreed to mays deal in 3 days.

They would of been laughing behind our backs in shock at how good it was for them.

This is not what either remain or leave was ever about.

I can not believe a remainer has headed this sham, when the people wanted to leave.

A leave tory should nowreplace her and thrash out a real leave deal. Its that simple

The deal was the result of 18 months of negotiations. Not 3 days. Where are you getting this nonsense?

She was hamfisted because of the idiotic red lines she put out to appease the headbangers in her party. The main one being ending free movement.

There is no way of ending free movement and not having a border in Ireland or cutting off Northern Ireland and having a sea border.

It then didn’t help that she finds herself being propped up by the DUP who want neither of the above.

It took the EU 3 days to look thro and agree. The deal was that one sided. It should of took weeks.

Both of her own making. She is an embarrasment to this country and should have been fired yonks ago.

She has caved in and is utterly weak and defensive. Boris was right... maybe we should have let Donald Trump do it. How long do you think the negotiations would have lasted with him?

Idiot May and incompetent Corbyn arguing over which version of Brexit neither of their parties will be able to deliver. Beyond farce.

Just give us a 2nd referendum and be done with it.

then a 3rd, then a fourth, etc etc etc etc

that will not be happening.
