I can’t recall one seriously suggesting that all of our seniors are racists mate. Some defo, as it goes with the territory as they’re from a different era, my old fella is a fully fledged flag waving racist for example. But he’s not reflective of all by any means
Let me give you an analogy, FLHD. And I hope you'll take it as intended with the topic under discussion.
On one of the guitar forums I go on, some have nothing good to say about Gibson guitars - the quality control, the playability, the sound, etc..
Others will say that there are good years for Gibson, and there are bad years (what a load of rubbish!).
As with what we have been discussing, the truth is somewhere inbetween. Sometimes stuff slips through to the shops which should have been properly QCed so as to prevent it. Playability is to an individual's preference, and how one sets up the guitar (I have always set up mine for how I want it to play and sound [I won't go into the complexities of bridge height, pickup height, polepiece height on the pickups, etc]). SOund again is an individual preference. And there is no way a complete year of ANY product is 100% good or 100% bad. There is good and bad stuff in every year.
And so having said that, I freely admit that there will be/have been some who voted out who were racist, and based their vote on that premise alone. But to tar all with the same brush is inherently incorrect, as I hope you will agree. That is all I am trying to say.
I hope the above go some way to clarifying things, with respect of myself, at least.
By the way, I've gigged nothing but Gibsons since 1970!
