I was meant to go back in April. Really jealous. Possibly my favourite city. It must be baking there now. Went to Cádiz last year which is also a lovely place.

Yes it is baking !, there’s been a gang of us going to a Blues festival in Cazorla , Andalusia, for the past five years , obviously it’s cancelled but two of us had flights booked in February so we’re here instead. Cadiz is on the list for a visit, last year we came for 11 nights , Malaga to Bilbao !.

Espanyols entire identity is based around hating Barcelona and abusing their players, I hate when we are compared to them because we've actually won plenty of trophies, Espanyol have a similar cabinet to West Ham.

Used to prefer to see Barcelona beat Madrid due to Madrid’s history with fascism but think both clubs are destroying the leagues and should be relegated for eternity. Like to see Seville and Bilbao.

In relation to fascism and Franco and all that, Sevilla are apparently hated by fans of other clubs for the same reason as you mention for Madrid

I went to Atleti v Sevilla in the last season at the Vicente Calderon and I was surprised by the hatred for them until my buddy explained it.

always preferred Betis. They have the 4th most fans in the country and the majority of fans in the city and they never win anything!

id also add I wouldn’t want us to be compared to Espanyol. Every club has their dodgy fans but there’s an element to their support I despise. This pro-Spain, fascist, racist crap. Barça in fairness have more or less rooted out those sorts but at Espanyol as recently as this year I think there was an issue with chants against Iñaki Williams. Not to mention the charming chants about wishing Piques kid would die

I did like though that recently the club tweeted about Vox the far right scumbugs here basically saying don’t use our name we want nothing to do with you.

In the efforts of not being biased, as a Barça fan and ST holder, I’d say there is a chance you might see some similar behavior by Barça fans if the majority didn’t give their seats up to tourists. It’s hard for scumbugs to drum up anger and hatred and feel brave enough to be racists when you’re outnumbered by tourists taking selfies. lol

My enjoyment of la liga has dwindled massively in recent years. Just find it so biased towards the big two that it's not a level playing field at all. Its nearly gotten worse somehow with the introduction of VAR, some decisions are mind boggling.

Did see Bilbao Betis at the San mames a couple of years back and it was a thoroughly enjoyable match day experience, and Northern Spain is amazing.

Bit like us in that they have glamorous media darling neighbours. They say Neu Camp is filled with tourists and plastic fans, they are the true Catalan club.

Not the way I hear it.

I always heard Espanyol were the club of Spaniards from other regions whose people had migrated to Catalonia from Madrid, Andaluscia, Extramadura etc.

People who consider themselvex Spanish first and Catalan second.

Even the name suggests that.

A great city like Barcelona should always have two top flight clubs.

Big fan of Spain to, me. Andalucia especially. Cadiz, Jerez, Sevilla, Granada, Vejer, Bolonia. I don't want to experience Sevilla in August again though. That was torture lol

Why ?

Good question. I know that people like different teams from other countries and more power to them. But what have Espanyol got to do with Everton? I'd think that nothing less than a mid tier La Liga Spanish side (or equivalent for whatever non-English league) is a perfectly acceptable team to have a pre-season friendly against which unfortunately for them, they are not.

just booked man-bilbao on easyjet for october £34 return,plan on doing athletico and real socidad,maybe real santander as well!
