What happened to him?

Was he sick? Injured?

Have we talked about this yet?

Im a Hibbo critic at the best of times, but surely if he wasnt ill, it has to be his/anyone in the teams worst performance since Per put his hand up.

Nice guy but championship footballer at best.

Hibbert came into the team an he was mediocre five years later he is still mediocre and in five years time he will still be mediocre.

It's been established since the weekend that he's responsible for the cup final defeat. He made sure Chelsea had a billion quids worth of talent on the pitch and on their bench, and he is the original carrier of the swine flu virus.

If it wasn't for that Hibbert...<shakes fist>.

He got booked early on & seemed petrified to throw in a challenge from then on in case he got sent off. Leave him to play to his strengths & he can do a good job but if you take solid tackling away from him he's an awful player because he has very little else to his game.

He's had a really good season though & I'm not ready to jib him off after a poor 45 minutes, even if it was in the biggest game of the season. We haven't got massive amounts of cash to throw around & it'd be better spent elsewhere so he just needs to put the game behind him & get back to being a brilliant tackler

In Moyes we trust. He picked the team and we accept that.We must also accept that Tony is not up to the job and has never been up to the job of wearing an Everton shirt full time.I don't blame Tony for the defeat it was a team effort.I am not kicking the guy while he is down,he is just not good enough. And you can add Osman to that as well.

Voice of reason, agreed mate. (y)

Hibbert has had about two or three bad games this season. I am not going to knock the guy because he has a bad game. He's improved this season. Even the blind can see that. All this mediocre from time and beyond shoite is nonsense.

He didn't perform on the day. He was subbed. As an Evertonian, he'll hurt more than us. And I hope come back better and stronger next season.

Lets stop this "we need to find someone to blame" stuff.

First and foremost we knew all along that some of the side we had to play on Saturday had some limitations, namely:

Hibbert - great tackler (normally) not so clever going forward
Osman - not an ideal support for Tone in terms of tackling and getting stuck in
Cahill - grossly out of position - limiting his influence on the pitch - he was forced deeper to impose a measure of midfield control on the game (in the absence of Mikel)
Saha - can't give us 90 minutes and we really didn't have an option to start him on the bench.
Joey - over emphasis on the hoofed clearance.
Stevie P - lightweight (in terms of the tackle)
Vaughnie - match fitness..

Then when you throw into the equation the absences of Jags, Mikel and The Yak it was, without Blue Tinted Glasses on, a game too far for us against a team with 4-5 TOP TOP class players (Lampard, Drogba, Terry, (Cech?) etc. etc.) - you realise that our faith was stretched to the limit by a better side.

How many of the players we had on the pitch would have been in contention for a START in the Chelsea team - Timmy? Joleon? Tim H (mainly cos Cech's gone off the boil) - and in all cases not a sure starter - whereas Jags (probably), Mikel (certainly) and The Yak (possibly) would be - meaning that our best side can pretty much give them a good game.

We should reflect that, despite all those absentees, we gave them a decent game - particularly in the 2nd half when it was at least even before they put us away.

So, I contend, at least now we saw for sure the limitations that the likes of Tony has, honest-hard worker terrier that he is. He's worth his place in the squad but Moyesie now knows for sure, if he didn't know already, that we need a new right back!

Why have you omitted Fellaini from your list of limited players? If there was ever a limited player it is him. He cant tackle, and he cant run.

You add Fellaini if you like.

I'm done with pulling my beloved Blues apart for this season - I didn't get any joy from writing those words. S**t happens. We'll come back next season and give it a good go!

get off his back

I often read some of the comments on Toffeeweb, but this morning, after reading some of the rubbish by so called Everton supporters, i have had to come on and say, Get of Hibbo's back, the lad will be as gutted as we are, and the need to point fingers is out of order, name one player that had a really good game on Saturday.........we were beaten by a good team and on the day we just never got going, OK so most of there attacks came down our right hand side, but to pick out Hibbert for all the blame is out of order.
We have had a great season, with a small squad, and some of our best players were out, we would of taken that at the start of the season, so lets look forward to next season, if you have to have a go at anyone, have a go at the red scum, and not at one of our own.

If Hibbo had more help in front of him, things may have been different, every time the ball was switched to his side of the field there was no tracking of the runner by Osman. Once Tony was booked (harshly I may add) he had no where to go. Osman should have been helping more defensively IMO. But I thought Jacobson did ok though.

I'm all the way with you on this point mate. Hibbo isn't the greatest RB in the world, but neither are Neville or Jacobsen. I think we should reserve judgement on what works in that position until we get a right sided midfielder who can do that tracking back.
