Eric Dier

I'm pretty sure I heard his parents moved back to the UK so its probably a case of Sporting letting him be near his parents for a bit. There is no real benefit to the club unless we have a deal lined up, might just be a good bit of PR work.

SO your saying the player wont benefit from playing in the right age group? i think your right.. All clubs who have youth academis should just scrap them, they clearly produce nothing.

No I'm not that soft lad I'm sayin why go on loan to another teams youth system.

I also think it's a very strange arrangement having him on loan for our youth team for two years. There must be more to it. Maybe sporting are after quite a big fee in add-ons ect, therefore we want to take a proper in depth look at the lad? I don't see any other benefit for sporting? If they wanted a loan to improve him then have back I don't see any benefit for us?

The only logical explanation is sporting want bigger fee we want to test him properly and see his progression before signing?

Put the Eric Dier issue on the back burner, he is on loan for a season, if anything should materialise i will inform you all so for now just RELAX!

Alright princess etc etc :)

It's just very interesting that we brought him on 2 separate loan deals....and havent heard anything more or any reasoning behind it which would benefit the club.

Whats your opinion on why this deal happened?

Like i have said before, i was told that Eric's valuation is between £6m & £7m and ask yourself with the present climate, are we as a club in a position to pay that sort of money for a 17 year old?

Why would we take a youth on loan if we can't sign him?!?!? pointless as anything, I could understand looking at him with a view to signing but if not just a completely useless bit of business i'm afraid.

Right, forgive me if the point's been raised, but I can't trawl through ten pages of posts.

Presumably Eric Dier, being under 18, can't sign a very lengthy contract. We've already had him on loan for six months last season, and another season right now. When the loan period is finished, how long will he have left on his contract? I can't really believe that our strategy is to keep on borrowing him until his contract expires, hoping his club won't notice in the meantime, then sign him on a free.
