We didn't have local elections here but I've had quite a few convos with lifelong Labour voters who say they'll be voting Reform next time.
As they are clearly unable to handle nuance I've been asking them if they're stupid. A lack of positive responses and feedback tells me all I need to know.

Behold, the People's Republic of centrist dads. They always clean up in my area but this was another level.

"we finally put labour in instead of the tories to fix 14 years and a bank bail out, labour have had 20 months and haven't fixed it, never liked lord starmer anyway!"

"politics never has never and will never work for me, so I vote who I'm pleaded not to out of belligerence, just 'cos them pleading were being looked after doesn't mean I was. Now we're all in the same boat (arff!) and everyone loses!"

I can understand why the disabled are so frightened of the assisted suicide bill, there's an iceberg on the horizon with "lower taxes = no support" written on it, and when the cranks demanding lower taxes (remember it was the tory scum like boris who melted the countries credit card on payments via covid to their pals) then the debt needs facing. This current government faced the situation with both legs broken before they even started. the brexit illness was just the icing on a spit* cake.

I empathise with those who say 'let it burn', it's the youth that I feel for, it's a grim future in front.

Did anyone notice that all the headlines out of the local elections were about Labour losing loads of seats? The Tories lost loads and it wasn't mentioned. The winners were Reform and the Green party.

Labour got smashed which is not uncommon mid-term. Usually the party in opposition makes massive gains.

Kemi Badenoch had the cheek to say something like 'I said we'd be back and we are'. You lost over 400 seats, you daft cow.

2024...

"Ha Ha Ha. Let's all laugh at Dave. 'Sir" Keir's going be a breathe of fresh air. Dave must be stupid not supporting Keir".
