Given how little agreement there already is about climate change, I can just imagine the fun times when the number of climate refugees goes up considerably.

The stuff I read about climate change, the concern is not even the collapse, but it's what happens leading up to the ecological collapse.

Like it's not the issue of what happens when we become flooded. The breakdown in supply chains, and governance before that,.the lack of food etc is going to be very difficult.

It will be a slow knife for sure. And that's the problem. Humankind is generally quite poor at taking the longer view and making decisions based on the bigger picture. Unless something slaps us suddenly in the face, it's not seen as cause for action.

The effects of global warming have ramped up almost imperceptibly year to year, but if you look at just the straight difference between the climate now against what it was 20 years ago, the change has been stark. And 20 years isn't a long time for this kind of thing

Until it very much isn't. We've seen how it will be dealt with, braverman's comments regards 'invasion' is exactly the precursor to 'defence' which that sort so revel in...

Globalists dont cause refugees, or at least not in the way you are suggesting.

Globalisation, or capitalism does, but not in a conspiratorial way. Lives are ruined thanks to the pursuit of greed. We have a responsibility to treat victims of this with dignity and respect. The rich should be forced to be part of that process.
oh yes they do - here`s how.

But do you think air travel causes climate change?

Because if you dont, them taking planes makes no difference.
I don`t think co2 emissions cause global warming but the governments/media are pushing the idea that they do.
If they think that co2 causes global warming why don`t they stop empty planes flying.

But if you dont think that CO2 emissions cause global warming, why are you concerning yourself about what others might think?

It seems like you are going out of your way to find offence and get angry. Or that you dont have much confidence in your convictions.

If I felt flying planes didnt have a consequence for the planet, then live and let live ultimately. Fly as many planes as you like. The problem is, as you hunt at, its not true, it does cause global warming, and its poor practice.

But you dont look very serious when you try to criticise people for something that you assert is harmless.

I dont think you read the 2nd part of my answer.

As stated above, globalisation, capitalist and inequality have of course exploited countries, and caused warfare and unsafe conditions for refugees.

The thing is, right wingers like Meloni are more supportive of this system than anyone. Ask them to pay reparations, or try to support such countries and you get enormous opposition. Ask them to adjust climate policies which are making the world unlivable for sections of the world, and you get the same response.

So they enable the economic system that creates these difficulties, but then want to wash.their hands of their responsibilities when ordinary people are affected, or worse still, to lie about those people who are the victims.

Build a fairer, more equal world, eliminate the toxic far right ideas, and we will have a lot less refugees.

It seems you just don`t understand the point i am making even after i`ve simplified it numerous times stating if co2 was the cause of warming then the useless burning of jet fuel would be the first thing to go.

Why are you so abusive and threatening in your replies to my posts?

No I do understand your point. Well I understand both of your points. They are just a bit contradictory. However planes can't both not cause, and cause climate change depending on who's using them. It would be lovely if it worked that way, as we could just use planes and not harm the planet, but unfortunately it's not the case.
But we agree, flying to the conference, which is clearly going to add to global warming, is a bit ridiculous and hypocritical.

As for the abusive or threatening, Im not sure there's been any term of abuse, or any threats. We are disagreeing, respectfully enough, don't go all snowflakey because someone is challenging your views mate. If you can dish out your opinions, you should be able to listen to someone expressing their opinion too.

May I refer to him as a tuna-canoe?
