Hahahahaahahahahhaha

No
Walters last season in 1725 mins 5 goals and 3 assists.
Valencia last season in 1010 mins 4 goals and 2 assists.

Not much difference really especially considering he had Payet providing for him. At least Walters has a better hold up and all round game.

Both pretty rubbish.

I am still to make up my mind on Valencia. He hasn't played enough for Everton to say one way or the other. I have shut out the fact that West Ham must see us as rivals but they were prepared to lend him to us.
I would like to see him up front with Lukuka.

He was still a top player. That's like saying when City signed Toure he was rubbish because he was cast off by Pep or Ibra etc.

Or even perhaps KDB, Lukaku and a whole host of other players Jose got rid off.

I didn't mean that.

I'm just saying it's not like Mata was at the peak of his powers at Chelsea at the time.

Very few clubs can restle top players away from clubs like Chelsea if they are at the peak of their powers.

He was still a player held in very high regard when he signed. Utd fans thought at the time they were getting someone who was world class who just didn't fit Mourinho's playing style.

Yes - I understand that - but it's Man United. There's a difference. And Mata was been signed as a first-teamer.

As a club, we are currently in a bit of limbo, specifically in regards to signing players who know they will be cover.

No Europe to offer, so that means any gametime is limited to injuries, sub appearances or the odd cup game.

Our first-choice striker is excellent and rightly key to our side. We rarely play with two 'out and out' strikers up top.

Any strikers who are currently second-choice at clubs challenging in Europe aren't gonna leave to be second choice here. (Gabbiadini)

Similarly, a striker who is first-choice at a club that has been on relatively equal footing over the past few seasons isn't gonna leave to be second-choice here. (Bony)

A striker at a lesser club is likely to go to a European club to be back up should they come calling (Perez, Janssen)

So, we're left with picking up a back-up striker from a club on relatively equal recent footing (West Ham) to be our back-up.

That doesn't mean their aren't still gems to be found.

Lets get one thing right here, Naismith isnt good enough! There is a reason why he is a Norwich reserve. We were right to sell him when we did.

Great bloke, good finisher when a chance comes his way. His all round game is lacking regardless of comparisons to anyone else.
didn't say he was good enough, said he was better than valencia
