Those clowns and their blue passports really have made it impossible to have a debate like this without ridiculing it though. Fair enough really, goes to show who is in the majority and honestly that's sound.

Clearly the language alone doesn't decide. And as mentioned, the question was whether you think it's important or not. Because clearly, and you cannot deny it, the question of a british manager or an english-speaking manager vs. a foreign manager is getting to be a sort of big debate.

I'm not categorically for it, but i would rather prefer an eloquent manager to another lofty language butcher. Sure, Koeman was absolutely acceptable, but Unsworth is effing Cicero compared to him.

Martinez's speech at the pit for the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough was heartfelt and eloquent.

I think it’s important that a manager can get his ideas across and be understood by the players. Ideally they should have an understanding of English and a decent command of it.

Also I think for some managers the media pick them apart if they can’t understand english

As long as he isn't Walter Mazzari levels of 'can't be arsed to learn the language'. Koeman's English isn't that bad, to be fair. Other managers speak much worse. And have you heard Joel?

I speak Spanish and German and I'd say Koeman's English is better than my Spanish.
