I watched the game after a big football presentation (my friend's brother got player's player of the season *clap clap clap*) so it was up on a big screen. Now, there were about 300 people and I was lucky enough to end up sat next to 4 drunk men who spent the whole match shouting and swearing extremely loudly. I took it upon myself to cheer every time Tim Howard or Landon Donovan were on the screen, simply because I love them. If looks could kill.....it'd be adios from me!

As I said though, "I totally support England all the way, but I also support my two boys on team USA." I thought I was never going to get out of the place alive!

Half of the players today were hugely disappointing though, we should have won 2-1.

You're spot on about the yanks.

I don't get that on Heskey, though. He won the ball a lot yeah but he wasn't playing close enough to rooney for us to get the follow up so whats the point. A couple of his passes were clever, too, but then he also missed two chances he should have buried.

To me, we would have won that game if rooney had been playing the target man rather than heskey. As it was we went for the long ball too often, our mdifield didn't get up fast enough and rooney sat too deep and didn't do anything. If you're going to play that system then your wide men need to do well, which they did, and your front man needs to be deadly when he gets a chance, and he wasn't. All due respect to Howard, any international striker should bury a one on one.

what game were you watching? the yanks took it to the redcoats for the whole first half (minus the goal from gerrard)... USA played their game-plan perfectly - solid result.

I kind of envy you, to be honest. I watched it in my local with just the barman and his two puppies there with me.

And one of the dogs pissed all over the floor, too.

I was expecting better than that from the US, to be fair. They look, on that performance, they've gone backwards since the Confederations Cup.

To be fair, they lost their first two matches in that tournament. Hope for their sake they improve in the later games as they did last year.

Take it with a grain of salt.. Respect is earned in world football and we (US) will not earn respect for many years and many results..

*Hahahah* It was great. I spent half of the time outside in the front entrance of the place though, chatting to the security men. So much more interesting than the game and scary, shouting men. :P

Different game to you, obviously. I counted two real attacks from the americans.

Okay, you know what... I won't even reply to your comment because defendin the U.S. in football is a lost cause as it is....

so let's focus on what most people seem to be overlooking... England. Solid result from them tonight eh?
