Hope he does, lots of the press moan about young players being not given a chance and then gripe when experienced players like cole, Lampard and Terry are left out.

Cole cannot train the day after a game because of his bad ankle - why on earth anyone thinks he will be able to do 3 games in a week and spend 90 mins walking up and down the wing let alone run in sauna like heat is beyond me. Think we should be taking 3 over 30 players at max and treating the world cup as prep for Euro 2016 in France when the weather etc will suit us more than either Brazil or Russia
Couldn't agree more.

Johnson in particular who performed so well at Wembley can feel aggrieved, but strength in wide players is something this current England crop have in abundance. Adam Lallana, James Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling and Andros Townsend all offer England varied and effective options on either wing, despite the latter's poor form for his club side Tottenham he was integral in England's qualifying campaign.

Huh? Not being funny but I wouldn't call that list of players strength in abundance....

with you on that one mate, milner is awful, everything I hate watching in a footballer, lallana is okay, not really proved at the highest level, oxlade chamberlain is a good prospect, twonsend a one trick pony whose purple patch has ended, and raheem wright-phillips is an okay prospect

Southern kopites XI: 1 Hart 2 Johnson 3 Cole 4 Gerrard (c) 5 Cahill 6 Smalling 7 Wilshere 8 Henderson 9 Sturridge 10 Rooney 11 sterling

Pleased none of our two are starting actually. Sorry, but Saturday is way more important.

Does wind me up that Jags finally becomes first choice CB for England and all of a sudden the back four is now "England's Achilies Heel" according to Glen Hoddle

Cahill and Jagielka are both excellent players. He's talking out his arse
