145 runs scored from 97-1 to 242 ao and johnson got 77 of them. with the other runs coming in his partnerships. aussies were woeful. they beat the bat about once or twice in the whole of yesterday - england gifted them pretty much all 10 wickets bar lyth and then england are beating the bat all day long in both innings.

wonder if starc will be risked.

I've half-bookmarked it since he got a half-century. ;)

haha in my defence i meant he'd done nothing in the match up to then so just had to get involved. he does the same with moaning about catches that may or may not have carried. steven gerrard or cricket the egotistical beaut - hope him and starc with his hushy fingers are sleeping with their tail between their legs tonight.

I'm not his biggest fan either although he seems to have piped down a bit since the Aussies were last here.

@toffeejack

Serious question and i don't mean this to sound like im being a cock. Aren't you welsh ?

yep, half englsih but i choose not to mention that :p it's the England & Wales cricket board though - welsh ground, if i was good enough as a welshman i'd be playing for this team - it's just a name at the end of the day. not really the same as rugby, football etc. where welshmen actually play for their own country. all welsh cricket fans follow this team - not really an issue tbh.

interesting interview with broad there - seems to have more of a cricket brain than seems evident on the pitch. @Elong called it - won the game there today.

Oh ok, i don't follow Cricket at all and wasn't aware of that. Fair enough.

Great performance that. I thought that the new found positive attitude helped and instead of batting our way to a declaration like we have to horrible effect previously, we knew that we'd bowl them out and win the game so played more freely. Still think it'll be a struggle once their top order get used to the pitches but great start and what a second test it should be at Lords.
